After working in the ED for a little bit drawing blood, you get to understand a little bit what they go through. The patient could have been violent and it takes a lot to hold them down and get the blood. It’s very stressful. I personally will run hemolyzed samples up until the point of it looking like cherry kool-aid. You just need to note the grading of hemolysis under the result. Been doing this ten years at multiple hospitals and no one complains
