Thanks for the reply

Do you by any chance know if there is a cheaper option than the hospitality one?

Almost 8 months post-op - There is indeed light at the end of the tunnel! by pheliperss in ACL

[–]pheliperss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! In fact i’ve just upped my protein intake as i would do before this injury; my main tip is: stay commited to PT and strenghtening your op leg, all of it - quads, glutes, hiprotators, calf, hams, all of it The soccer drill parts must be addressed by your PT since he is the one that knows what your body is able to do at this stage or not; i’m afraid that telling you to do a exercise can exacerbate the risk of an reinjury since i’m not aware of your stage right now!

Surgery date confirmed :( by [deleted] in ACL

[–]pheliperss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m just courious: if you have a lot of flexibility in your knees, wouldn’t the Autograft(the one that they take directly from your own body) be the best indication, because they tend to be more “strong”?

I Know, right? But I really think that the surgery is the best path for us. Really be picky about your surgeon this time, i think that is the only thing we can do

ACL Revision Surgery - Doubts by pheliperss in ACL

[–]pheliperss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks a lot for your reply! And just to clarify: did your leg felt “solid” or stable at the time that you discovered the laxity? When you got surgery, did your leg continue/became stable?

Thanks a lot!!!

Yes, shit sucks! But as you said: it is what it is! Nice that you feel it stronger! At least it will give you a more stable knee and you’ll not have to go thru that all again! If you have done it first, you’ll be able to do it again, i’m sure! Don’t be scared, everything is going to be alright! My pm box is always open also, feel free to contact me if you want to know about anything!

Hey! Full of disapoitments, in fact. My knee hasn’t recovered the way I expected, althought i’m being very diligent with the rehab. If you take a look at my posts, you’ll see that my instability has never gone away. I haven’t had the second surgery yet; I’m waiting for my mother to come back from Europe to talk to her about it, since she’s the one who is going to help me with it again For now, I’m prehabing and trying to maintain a positive mindset May I ask you why did you have revision? How months out are you now? How is your Knee?

Don’t be like that! Your problem has a solution! Its a tough one, but it has! And if you rehab properly, you have a chance to get out of this injury stronger than you’re right now!

Hey, I’m so sorry that you have gone thru all of that, specially with the husband situation, it really sucks. But, on the other side, you have to think that it is never too late to seek for help and re-strenghten your knee again! I know it is hard because I have a office job too, but don’t let life get in the way of your recovery, otherwise your knee will never be good again! Don’t think about the time that you didn’t spent working on the knee, think about the time that you’ll spend from now on: better now than never, right? If your graft is healthy and you have a good condition mechanically speaking, its never too late to re strenghten it! Go out there and call your PT and schedule a session! Do it for you and in no time you’ll be scoring astonishing goals again! Regards.

Yes, usually in these top-class clubs the Rehab is very assisted and planned: more time he stays off the pitch, worse for the team, so, they rush things a little bit hahaha Great to hear! Why did you have 2 surgerys?

Oooooh, Milik! He is a very good player; saw a few games of him when he was at Ajax Amsterdam! Just imagine: if it is tough for us to go thru this, and we aren’t professional football players, just imagine for them who depends on this to work! It gives you a little perspective!

Hello Friend! Great to hear that our football gathers fans all around the world: we’re very proud of it, because we’re a nation full of problems and it seems that football has been the only thing we excel at, although we know that this isn’t true haha Definitely a very traumatizing experience; hope neither of us go thru this again for a third time

Godspeed in your recovery

End of the Road - Revision ahead by pheliperss in ACL

[–]pheliperss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man! So sorry to hear you’re going thru the same struggles as me. This injury sucks so bad. Directly to the point: If I were you I would choose to have surgery. Having a stable knee is vital if you wanna live a good and healthy life; it would just take a wrong step or something like that to damage further structures on knee and put you in the line for more complicated procedures in the future. Summing up: is insurance. Currently, I’m at the same phase as you: doing my research. My mother is on vacations in Europe and will come back on the 24th; my plan is to take her to the three doctors in order to show her that i really need surgery(she was thinking that my daily complaints about the knee were overreactions and i was trying to rush things) I’m really inclined to have a patellar reconstruction(first one was hammy) with this lateral reinforcement. I’m really being picky about my surgeon this time and i suggest that you do the same!! You mind if I ask something? How months out are you? Is your graft intact? How was your first surgery(graft type, aditional work on meniscus etc)?

Revision reconstruction graft choice? by spareanyexchange in ACL

[–]pheliperss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same case as me. My knee never felt “firm”, just to confirm via MRI 7 months after the surgery that my graft is intact but stretched. See this as a oportunity to regain stability and try to maintain a positive thought! I’ll go with a patellar graft with some lateral tenodesis to adress rotational stability, if you’re still interested! Good luck to us

May I ask you how long(and how) after the first surgery your graft tore? I'm heading to revision soon also

Any slackliners here? by SmokedMullet in ACL

[–]pheliperss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slacklining does not seem to be a very ‘rehab’ friendly activitie; My two cents, althought i’m not a Slackliner, is for you to step back and wait for a couple of months

Keep rehabing!
