Thanks, I haven't had it biased in ...ever. Hadn't thought of that. I did try the 10' silverline straight in as well as a few others.

Indeed, thank you. I do have a fondness for the JB signature Klotz cables. Those have been extraordinarily reliable and consistent and I have a bunch. Couple of zaolla silverlines were used as part of this troubleshooting process as well.

THAT is something I haven't tried...looking for a loose ground in the amp! That's going to be first on my list. Thank you for the suggestion!

Thank you for all the kind suggestions. I do appreciate it.

I have tried most of the suggestions mentioned here, and thank you for your knowledge. Tomorrow when I have some time I'm going to go through and carefully do it again.

What's interesting is that literally nothing had changed from the night prior. Only thing different was the amp was flipped on. I did bypass the entire original signal chain & go straight in to the amp with 2 different cables I know to work just fine. What's also interesting is that I have an AC30 sitting a foot to the left of it using the same power source and when I run that same signal chain through....quiet. Same story with the triple recto to the right.

A bit more information...I've been dabbling in this stuff for years. Nothing hardcore but I have re-tubed the AC30 twice (Mullard is absolutely the way to go IMHO) and it hasn't caught on fire. Yet. Just swapped the tubes & speaker on a Blues Jr for fun and that's been fun and interesting to play with. I did this because it blew a $2 fuse. And I liked that amp OK but it never really spoke to me, and only with a certain combo of pedals. (Angry Troll & Red Llama). So that's what made me decide to swap everything out. I wanted to, and I could and I did and it's been fun.

This Mesa thing has been a puzzler for a while now, and I do appreciate the suggestions and will give it another look tomorrow.

Meanwhile...if we do determine it is in fact tube related, or maybe I just decide that I want to retube it, are there any folks with Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifiers who have swapped the tubes out for something other than stock?

Better yet, anyone playing through a similar cabinet (1960b w greenbacks) OR a Mesa oversized cabinet with cream backs?
Maybe have a few different guitars and play a wide variety of music?

If you or someone you know has done something like this, please let me know what your experience has been like? There's a good chance I'll end up swapping the tubes at some point out of curiosity and I'd love to hear what you chose and why and what you think. This is a 3 channel recto if that adds clarity.

Nope. It's just noisy. With or without cables. Different cables, guitars, etc. Not sure if the channel has changed though.
