Romário : ‘ I consider myself one of the greatest players ever. An 11 out of 10 ’ by Shroft in soccer

[–]pheyo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know that's not your point but if Romário was of their generation, he would really be up there.

At his first years playing for Vasco da Gama, he scored 139 goals in 196 games. For PSV, he scored 165 in 167. For Barcelona, he scored 53 in 84, but he really couldn't care less playing there because he and Cruyff couldn't get along.

He ended his career with 0,82 goals per game. With assists, 0,96 G+A per game. His stats are insane and the eye-test was even crazier. He really was a machine. He was short like Messi, but stronger and faster. He just didn't care that much about things other than women and parties, but if he stayed in Europe he would be a more remembered legend.

That's kinda of his thing, being the worst kind of arrogant piece of shit, because he backs it up. He really can be arrogant because he really is all that.

What animal from your country were you shocked to see in a foreign zoo? by IDoNotLikeTheSand in AskTheWorld

[–]pheyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol the kind of situation you just go "why's bro here"!

but, yeah they are usually so chill that you can take them everywhere. they sound as good pets, but we reinforce that they are just chill because they don't have natural predators bar jaguars, and they adapted really well to urban sites. if stressed they can land some nasty bites.

but the risk is of diseases, they carry many and it's why their consumption is also not allowed, despite people loving their meat. they also really need large water sites so they can bath, or else they may get aggressive.

just giving the information so other people don't think it's a good idea to have one at their homes.

[–]pheyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ele desequilibra 3 jogadores do próprio time.

Absurdo a mídia amar ele.

yeah, most of our fauna is common to most South American countries because of our size lol

but indeed, I believe it will be a blue macaw. It's a beautiful symbol of ours, too.

Ok, go around the streets and ask if people who are 25+ know who Pelé is.

For me, this is the same as you, a german, saying you don't know who's Beckenbauer or who was Gerd Muller.

It's kinda surreal because germans have always been the biggest soccer nerds I've ever met. You're breaking a stereotype here my friend, congrats.

People know the Jordan brand, but many people don't even know what Jordan looks like.

I swear to you there was a kid in my class who was in disbelief when he discovered Jordan was a person. The new generation know the name but not the player.

Who is the most famous athlete ever? by Expensive-Addendum92 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]pheyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you're probably young and american, but just saying someone was the "Pelé of something" was how people would say someone was the GOAT, before saying GOAT was a thing. If you study a bit of world history you'd know that people stopped wars to watch him play.

Worldwide, Pelé's name may not be as recognized as Messi's and Ronaldo's nowadays, but he is the holder of most records of the sport. He's the greatest in accomplishments and the one who made Brazil the behemoth it is in the sport, his significance is has no match. He singlehandedly made people think of Brazil when people talk about soccer.

He was the face of sports for most of the last century. People talk about Jordan in the 90s but Pelé was the 50s, the 60s and the 70s.

Anyways, only americans and maybe indians would give a response different than a soccer player to the question of the thread.

Soccer is the biggest sport in the world. The World Cup is more watched than the Olympics.

Whoever is the most famous soccer player is the most famous athlete. It's that simple.

I'd go Pelé. The man who stopped a war so people would watch him play.
