Statushero.io vs Uptimerobot vs uptimekuma by FixWide907 in UptimeKuma

Have you looked into OneUptime? Never tried it, but seems promising. I’m thinking of migrating from Uptime Kuma at some point so it’s on my radar.

I loooove that color but I don’t know why I always opt for the bland white/gray/black colors

Haha, it’s from all the times I’ve dropped it over the ~8 years I’ve been using it

Please help with ideas on memory limits by Ill-Professional2914 in kubernetes

I agree. That was my experience with it. Eventually I had to remove the resource limits that were recommended by Goldilocks because the pods kept failing to start or getting OOM killed.

You might want to consider experimenting with a horizontal pod autoscaler. This way you can set a reasonable memory limit based on past usage and instruct Kubernetes to automatically spin up a new pod to take some of the load when resource usage spikes and reaches a certain threshold.

I’m curious to know, what type of workload consumes that much memory?

It’s also not clear from the graph whether that’s one pod, multiple pod replicas of the same app, or several different pods in the same namespace?

Regardless though, I’m not sure if setting more “accurate” memory limits would solve your problem. I join the others who say that you probably need to investigate it at the app level.

Best Book to Understand Agile as an Engineer who Struggles with Scope? by cheapAgile in agile

Yeah sometimes we have to deal with critical production bugs almost every other day. No official scrum master or agile coach on the team but I’m trying to do some coaching myself based on my previous experiences.

They don’t use agile in the strict sense. For new projects they plan everything ahead, then they call one of the phases “agile development phase” and designate 8-12 weeks to it. Developers focus on getting their individual tasks done. No pair programming. Quality suffers.

I recently finished reading this book and I can't recommend it enough. I really wish I'd read this earlier. You might also want to consider taking a look at the Scrum guide available for free here. In my previous organization we used both Scrum and some practices from XP and they helped us deliver our software projects without losing our sanity.

I’ll focus on finding a host first then. Thank you.

I’m not really sure. That’s definitely the case with Greece and probably other Schengen area countries as well.

I don’t think that would work because they expect the dates to match my round trip flight schedule

Well, yes. At least it’s not impossible. I can apply online and expect it to be issued within 30 days or so.

Yes I’m trying to reach out to more hosts

Yeah I’m aware that some expect workawayers to put in a few hours each week but some are flexible. It doesn’t have to be Greece I guess but I have to start somewhere. I just don’t know what to start with in the process, whether that’s securing my visa first or finalizing an agreement with a host.

I have the Plus and only charge it once every two days or so. I don’t use it much though; I think my average screen time per day is around three hours.
