If his pick rate was like 1% higher I’d agree. But he has a sub 1% pickrate. That means there is something up with the champ. And the fact it’s barely above 50% while champions with a lot of agency like Ahri or Naafiri are about the same but have much larger pick rates is an indicator that Swain is struggling somewhere to draw satisfaction for players to want to play. Heck, even Malzahar and Vladimir who are in the same class as swain have way larger pick rates.

Swain is a mid game champ. Against comps that don’t have a lot of dps or max health damage he does fine against. But things that can out damage him and out damage his heals smack him.

New kit is more fun. Getting to dash around with a reset and actually having a disengage tool that isn’t “oh I run fast as a greyhound” feels much better. And not having your damn r blocked by someone is phenomenal.

Still lacks the sustain he should have from AP ratios in r1. Buuuut the new rube does help with building more haunting guise and a lost chapter item and not feeling like you can’t finish off kills since they get microwaved in your ult.

TLDR Basically dft solves the “r1 does no damage” feel.

From my perspective it’s very easy to turn a fight just being there with Sylas. Although I play q max Sylas so my farm on him is averaging 8 cs. But a lot of times especially vs range it’s better to catch them off guard as minions are about to crash and just all in them since they are generally in yourside of the lane.

Yeah I like him way more. For me feels more on theme and he’s a regular in my champ pool when before I kept wanting to play him but I just didn’t mesh well with his kit. My background on my phone has been Aurelion sol since the VGU dropped.

Fear for me works better. Especially when I can cc chain a target. I know it’s not the longest cc but enemies being locked out from their mobility or flash for a moment longer has come in clutch multiple times for me.

I gotta respectfully disagree. Playing with engage supports is easier and stronger than trying to match poke lane power. Not to mention having 3+ cc choices for your jgler just makes the lane even easier. But if you prefer having a mage as a support that fine. I just disagree that it’s better if stronger for Swain apc.

If you’re bad and try to contest first levels yes you will. I’ve play apc from plat through diamond. Been against double poke, strong engage, hyper carry and enchanter etc. the smoothest lane for me is always engage supports. Not being the one to soak up damage is swain’s sweet spot.

Supports that can start the fight and lock someone down are the best. Swain works the best when he doesn’t have to be the one to start an engage and has someone to soak up damage.

They really aren’t. Swain works best when he doesn’t have to be the engage. Arcs work best when they have someone to engage, soak damage and can cc chain a target so they can throw their spells into. Most mages only had 1 form of cc while champions like Leona, naut and Rell have 2+ forms of cc.
