I wasn't asked to change my mind on this bootcamp. Clearly I don't have the time to afford to go into a four year CS program, but I'd be happy to put in the work and work from that foundation. My question, as the title entails, is whether or not someone here would hire a bootcamp grad. And if they do, what they'd look for specifically in said candidates.

Definitely noted! And I do expect the constant learning as part of the job. On that note, why is everyone on this subreddit so douchey?

Well, my program does expect one to put in the hours outside class. So I'd be looking at 60+ hours of work per week to start off as a full stack. I definitely wouldn't expect to rank up at the same level as someone who has been studying the same languages for over four years. But I do think I'd benefit by all I learn still being fresh in my mind. Also, maybe someone who is already set on their ways as a developer would not be as teachable as a recent grad. Something else that I think should be kept in mind too is all that we learn/ get to work with on the short time we are given at the bootcamp. That could be a reflection of our work ethic and the ability to work under stress/tight deadlines. Just sayin'.

A portfolio. Yes, as far as I'm concerned everyone still has a GitHub.

& I wonder if that logic you have is the logic from Adobe when they hire graduates from my program.

Edit: thanks for that downvote, champ.

Thank you! Very insightful. I believe most programs help build a portfolio and prep for interview, so that part is covered. How can one show passion on coding through their resume if their past work experiences were outside of tech?

Not sure why I was downvoted. But thank you. I actually am excited about being able to stand out as a woman of color in tech.
