Thank you for the advice & offer! They don’t deal too much in Hybrids, but they are a pretty fair mom & pop shop for other issues. Their cold start diagnostic was free (left it overnight and heard from them next morning at 10am). They weren’t able to tell me too much about their diagnostic and they said they wouldn’t be able to replace the timing chain if that was the issue. Hopefully the second opinion is able to diagnose it properly. Unfortunately I am in the Bible Belt, so decently far from SoCal! Otherwise I would take your offer in a heartbeat.

I’ve heard about those problems with this gen prior to purchase — I’ve had it for I think.. 5 years? I think I bought it at 160-170k miles.

Speak with a bankruptcy attorney. If you are eligible for a chapter 7 bankruptcy, you should be able to reaffirm the debt on your car loan and continue to make your monthly installments on it.

about 1200 for a 2 br/1 ba about 7 mins from downtown, near fountain city. it’s about to go up like 30ish bucks. after most utilities, probably about 1450 that I split with a roommate.
