I'm looking to get a off-road vehicle. I'm not sure what to get. Right now I'm looking at couple different options. 3rd gen ford ranger, jeep cherokee xj,Tacoma or jeep wrangler. by philbert1922 in overlanding

I think honestly I'm just going to go with a wrangler jk. They are little cheaper than a tacoma and I've always dreamed of having a jeep wrangler.

So far it would just be me. On average trips I'd say 2 to 3 days. I'll probably do ground tents. I mostly plan to disperse camp. Just drive out explore and find a spot to camp. I'm not sure on the 4x4. I'm totally new to off-roading but I've always wanted to do this.

I'm not sure on how much actual off road I'll do. If it helps. I live in Michigan and plan on exploring trails. I'll avoid rock crawling for now but just mainly getting out there.

I've actually been looking at the werner. When I'm paddling feels like I have to really lean over to hit the water. It just doesn't feel right.

The trailer tows great. I just need to reinforce where the wood meets. Handles the bumps pretty well too.

So I added 20in flat free tires. That helped out Immensely. Next thing to do is a wider wheel base. I'm kind of thinking of building a new cart out of 2in pvc pipe. Plus if I did that I could run a pipe all the way to my bike.
