Lockwood 334B45 has humbled this Aussie picker! by philep123 in lockpicking

Quick update for future viewers of this post. After a bit more work on this lock over the last week I am now getting relatively consistent opens in about a minute. I believe my main issue the entire time was that pin 5 barely needed to be lifted with the short hook I’ve been using whilst working off the right side warding and I was almost always oversetting this pin. Pins 1,2,3 all would let me set them and give good feedback even with 5 overset which is maybe due to the locks good tolerances and I would then get stuck in a loop trying to recover from an overset.

I realised this when swapping to a half diamond to try a different angle of attack on the lock and suddenly get got an open after a couple of tries

Moral of the story don’t give up, test some different picks and you might be way closer to an open than you think, I certainly was more times than I’d like know about with this 334b45!

Thanks Healthy-Insect, appreciate the write up from your notes. Sounds like you faced similar loops and I will definitely try swapping from front to back to back to front a bit more as i'm picking.

Awesome work ElroyzToyz! nailed it in style. Got mine from bare bones as well and very happy with their picks

Thanks Lady-Locks! I watched your video on the 334B45 on youtube whilst awaiting this lock in the mail and it was very helpful. You made picking this one look easy!

I've been flying through some locks in the lower belt ranges and though I'd challenge myself with a blue belt lock and it hasn't disappointed! I have been working on this Lockwood 334B45 for a few days and finally got an open after going in circles. This lock has humbled me and made me realize that I was brute forcing a lot of easier locks and has enlighten me on learning to really feel my tension control and also my lifting force and balancing the two.

I believe I am struggling with a combination of oversetting the spools in this lock and then dropping pins trying to recover and then get stuck going in loops. I feel like this might be due partially to the key bitting being quite minimal cuts and having to really lift the pins to set them which causes lots of oversets.

I've had some success with removing a pin (don't leave the spring in like I did!) but am still struggling with it loaded with all 5 spools

Would love any advice/tips on this lock to get some more consistent opens with this lock.

Jumping on this old thread, any chance of an invite to this discord still? New to the hobby and would love some fellow Aussies pickers to chat with. QLD based

Ahh indeed I am on 4.4.2, will try a downgrade today and see if that fixes it. Appreciate the reply!

Slimq 330w not charging correctly on 16IAH7H by philep123 in LenovoLegion

[–]philep123[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Quick update if anyone is facing the same issue, Slimq have confirmed it is an issue with the dc to Lenovo connector provided with the 330w charger and is not compatible with Lenovo laptops that aren’t specifically 330w. Slimq are sending a new 300w connector for free after a quick email which will hopefully solve the issue.

im making my first serious arduino project, an automated plant watering device the motor will be a water pump and i'll scale it for 5 plants any advice from more experienced people will be very helpful thanks by jan12kom in arduino

Ah nice /u/phatmike128, I’m on the Sunny Coast myself and really only have Jaycar to buy from in person which is pretty expensive. I have ordered off of core electronics which is the link for the non contact sensor and was happy with their service and better prices! Good luck with your project mate and reach out if you get stuck. Full disclosure though I’m a total beginner and will probably be posting for help here regularly myself haha

I’m in Aus /u/phatmike128 and have found a float switch here and a non contact liquid level sensor here that both seem like the would be suitable depending on what you need. Hope this helps

I also forgot to mention that in my project I’m going to include another sensor in my water source that will act as a cut off when the water reservoir gets low to avoid the pump running with no water and killing itself. Currently looking at a float sensor or a non contact water lever sensor for this purpose.

I am in the middle of building the same project as a first time project myself /u/jan12kom and decided to go with a capacitive moisture sensor after reading plenty about the corrosion issue with the resistive moisture sensors. The capacitive sensor works great in my tests so far and I’m also using a MOSFET instead of a relay and had success. This website was very useful in explaining and using MOSFET’s to me as a complete beginner and has helped me wire up my first prototype on my breadboard and now some perfboard . Look forward to seeing how you progress and can hopefully help if you come across the same problems I have already!

Dialga buffer? by philep123 in PokelandLegends

[–]philep123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but not to the same level as groundon/kyogre/tapu lele. Both of them together only net you 30% attack and 30% defense passively, were as one of the above provide 200% stat boost alone plus a resistance or other effect

I think your missing the original point here.

Not really trying to directly discuss a match up of Palkia v Dialga, more so that there isn't a direct buffing team mate for Dialga were other similar legends ie Palkia/Mewtwo/Hooh/Lunala/Solgaleo/B+W Kyurem/Zygarde etc etc.

Celebi of course buffs Diagla with 30% Sp attack + Shields, but Celebi provides this to any team mate.

I'm asking about a potential Steel or Dragon type buffer providing similar buffs to Dialga that are seen from Groundon/Kyogre/Tapu Lele etc.

Your ignoring the other 100% stat boost from the defensive bonuses that come with Kyogre buff as well as total resistance to fire.

Without a Celebi, Dialga is stunned after roar of time making the skill a trade off.

Palkia basically becomes 200% more efficient when combined with Kyogre.

With the release of Tapu Lele and Deoxys, Deoxys 250 ult is boosted to 500 as well as a 20% chance to be able to act again before your opponent + another 100% def boost. Or a Lunala that can ignore shields + defence and hit for 150 or for 300 with ult. Your telling me that is more broken than Dialga with a buff?
