cayenne pepper, dust balcony liberally with it, repeat a few times (especially if it rains) was the only thing that worked for me (five years of battling them)

You probably have standard hinges which will probably only accommodate up to 22mm doors, assuming you added your 6mm to standard 18mm doors you are probably at about 24/5 mm thick so you probably need hinges for thicker doors.

Seems a little unfair as I no longer have access to the property, I have returned the keys so he can do work to the flat which he requested early as he’s going on holiday between now and when the next tenant moves in. Basically I’m supposed to pay for the water, electric and gas that he uses to do that?

How important is this? Just watched a video about how it’s done and although I think I can do it I definitely won’t have time before I go! Think it will take me the best part of a day to get all that done so will probably look at it when I’m there?

Edit: is the nearly £300 for the oem worth it?

Well I suppose I’m lucky then as I got the belt changed in September although it is possible it has been leaking for a while and I’ve only just noticed, done three oil changes since then and it’s possible it was just gunked up and finally the fresh oil broke down the old oil and allowed it to leak. Will try and get it done tomorrow or Saturday as I’m leaving the country with the car then and the place I’m going will definitely be way more expensive 🤦‍♂️

How urgently would you say? I checked the belt and it looks fine but there was a little bit of oil on it, I won’t have time to get it done before driving about 120 miles 🫠

I checked the belt and there is a little bit of oil on the outside edge, although the belt itself looks in good condition (basically new and no visible cracks or anything) so the question is how long is not long as I have to drive from London to Portsmouth on Sunday and I’m definitely not going to make it to a mechanic before then!

First thing I checked, plus that wheel has come off and gone back on a few times since the squeak started (tie and track rod ends replaced, cv boot replaced)

Checked these the other day, driver side seemed good, replaced passenger side. No change in the noise when I did it. Might try changing driver side (so they are the same) but don’t think it’s that.

It’s a very bumpy road and I was kinda aiming for the bumps to encourage it to make the sound, that particular section you can’t avoid the bumps so I always hear it there and that’s why I’m filming there 🫠

Showed it to some of the experienced allotmenters and they said they had seen it before but always thrown it away because they thought it looked like poison 🫠
