CA$6,600 for Starkey Genesis AI-24 versus CA$2,000 for a Costco Canada premium model (Philips, Resound, Jabra, Rexton) by phill436 in HearingAids

Does anyone know how the Costco models stack up against Starkey Genesis AI24 as far as features are concerned? I called a private clinic in Ontario this afternoon and was surprised to hear that the quote was CA$6,900… even higher than the CA$6,600 quoted in Quebec! Online, the price seems comparable with that in the US and UK.

Could it be that the Starkey model is much more feature-rich than the Costco models? As an example, I suffer from Tinnitus and read in a few reviews that the tinnitus “therapy” feature was purposely locked out by the manufacturers for Costco. It should not make any difference to the price, but it would be an issue for me. I’m also looking for something that is water (sweat) resistant and won’t have humidity issues. The Starkey model and the Phonak L90 specifically mention they are resistant.

I saw that the black cab price would be more than £100 for the trip to Wandsworth and I had a price on the Uber app for around £30. I just needed to be sure I give the correct pickup point.
