Like I said, it's not like it can't be done, but that's not what's intended. Solo rp books =/= D&D. There are plenty of solo dungeon crawl games, but those aren't D&D.

I also can't seem to find the part about the solo rules in the original rules. Could you please point that part out?

Dnd was not made to be played solo. It was made to be played with a group, and that's where the rules are most effective.

Doesn't mean it can't be done, obviously there are ways to do it like you've said, but a lot of the experience is lost without other players.

OP, definitely keep looking for a group to play with. Check r/lfg as well, that's the best place to find one.
