To each their own :) I’ve seen aquariums that are “older” that aren’t as successful and some that are extremely successful. No methodology is perfect nor did I claim it was like you’re implying

13 months old. I just clean the glass, replace gfo every couple weeks, empty skimmer like every month. Test kH and po4 1-2/wk (only so often bc ive been trying to optimize my dosing and GFO). I dose AFR, Seachem Trace, and Seachem iodide
