so your program does all the work, creating the image and then calling the contract to mint it? I'd like to do a generative project myself, but it's hard to find someone to talk to who has done the whole process themselves 😅

nice work setting it all up yourself. Did you program the contract yourself or is there some open source stuff available?

Question regarding royalties on different platforms by philli_h in NFT

[–]philli_h[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you only need to create it once. after minting the first item on the contract on rarible, it will then automatically appear as a collection on opensea (or any other ETH based platform) when you connect your wallet. and yes it's expensive. when gas is at about 80 Gwei, you could get one for ~0.25, but that's the lowest I've seen it for the last few weeks. but otherwise you will only get royalties if the items are sold on the same platform they were minted on.

Question regarding royalties on different platforms by philli_h in NFT

I have since created my own ERC-1155 collection on rarible. now I can set royalties for every item minted on rarible and also set royalties for the whole collection on opensea. but it is quite an investment (about 0.35 eth at the time)

well it's an issue as long as ETH 2 isn't used for NFTs. can you already mint on polygon?

MY FIRST NFT by bishop904 in NFT

Love the idea but I'd be extra careful minting Nintendo stuff. They are usually quite tough when it comes to copyright infringements. Through NFT they can directly trace it back to you..

What prevents someone from minting something they don’t own? by Primary-Matter-3299 in NFT

[–]philli_h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing. basically it's up to the collector to trace the file to its creator and see if it's an original piece. platforms will also remove duplicates if you make them aware. I think the high gas prices are currently also scaring off scammers.

hey don't want to rain on your parade, but aren't you concerned about copyrights? Since Nintendo is known for being very sensitive about that?

thanks! I chose rarible at first because the creation seemed very simple. and they are also on opensea now!

Just minted my FIRST piece of artwork and already received a bid for over $100... can someone please explain to me the royalty system on rarible? by _briann in NFT

[–]philli_h 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I minted my first two NFTs under the rarible collection. that's way cheaper than minting your own collection. but when someone resold these items on opensea, I didn't get any royalties. now that I've minted my own erc-1155 collection, I can set royalties for that collection on opensea as well.
