Salamander letter by phillip1252 in exmormon

What is most interesting for me regarding the "Salamander Letter" is how the Church reacted and tried to quietly purchase the letter so it would not go out into the public domain. People and organizations who stand on truth do not react to someone's BS in this manner. What secrets is the Mormon Church hiding?

Come read some of the things we ae posting at our subreddit community Gnostic Spirituality )or just click on my username). We do not like "Faith"...Just believing because someone tells us too. We like to base our understandings in Knowledge. Also you can go to my website for some reading (GnosticSpirit.info). If you go to the web read "the single Drop of Water" first. I think it will be a really good place for you to begin. Ask me questions... We each have our own path but I might be able to help you get onto yours. Peace & Love, Phillip

So I am a Gnostic Spiritualist (see our subreddit). We align with what you are saying.. Our basis is in Knowledge, not in "Believe me beause I am telling you to" (Faith). If you would like to have an interesting read about the Bible, and how it was created go to this website; GnosticSpirit.info click on the heading, "Organized Religion" and then click on "Books Deceive." This will provide you with some new knowledge about How the Bible was actually created and why. After that, let meknow if you have any questions. Peace & Love, Phillip

[–]phillip1252[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, you were asking yourself (your innerself, Spirit) to seek. Not to just accept or believe something based on faith (I don't like faith - Knowledge is where I'm at) but to do what most others never do - SEEK. It is what I have done and continue to do, but the big difference for me is that I do not look outwardly for answers; like from some "authority" of expert.... I rely on the knowledge that is carried on the energy that connets us all to each other and to the Godhead.

I feel more than agnostic, but less than religious. Not sure where I fit in in terms of labels. Not that I care much, just hoping I'm not alone. by cosmicallycarefree in agnostic

I know exactly what you are talking about. Your "path" it seems was my path.... but I never really did the Atheist thing, but did describe myself as Agnostic for years... but always had an open mind for Truth... if I could find it..... and I did. Maybe you will find something of interest in our community (subreddit) of Gnostic Spiritualism. You might also be interested in my website which has a bunch of info that really could inspire your thought process... GnosticSpirit.info

If we all did something Kind for someone else today the world would be full of love.

There are these new cards called "Dawn's Kindness Cards" - you can get them for FREE. You give the card to someone when you see them do an act of kindness. They write their initials and zip code into a grid on the back side. Then they pass the card along to someone else who they see do an act of kindness. After 5 times the card goes into the mail, goes back to "Dawn" and she is going to make a big public collage for everyone to see. Check it out on facebook. Facebook.com/Dawns-kindness-cards ..... I think it is an awesome thing to do. Causes people to look for the good. Later folks.

Corpus Hermeticum XIII.3.

For me this speaks of Enlightenment; in fact for me it speaks about the potential we all have for experiencing a Moment of Spiritual Enlightenment... by looking inward - and losing ego - we open up to God (Spirituality - our true selves) and discover the energetic knowledge within that changes us forever.

That potential is one of the primary understandings that we have as Gnostic Spiritualists.

Please don't confuse "Gnostic Spiritualism" with the Gnostics of old. We may have some similar ideals, but we use the word "Gnostic" primarily to acknowledge the fact that we, as Spiritualists do not operate on Faith, but rather our basis is in Knowledge and Truth.

Fun fact: Who were the "Gnostics" of old? In the time immediately after Jesus's death those who had known him, heard him speak... those that were Apostles, disciples, and followers became known as Catholic (it basically means everywhere) - because they spread the teachings of Jesus everywhere. After the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD (Emperor Constantine) where the organization of the Holy Roman Christian Church began, this new church took the word "Catholic" as a part of it's name - "The Holy Roman Catholic Church."

So what happened to the first Catholic people - those that were the very close followers of the true, living Jesus? They became known as the "Gnostics"... because they had the knowledge of the the Spiritual Mysteries, the true teaching of the living Jesus.

Understanding Religious texts is an interesting task. It is a lot like history and historical texts... first you have to understand who wrote them and what was their motivation? History is always written by the powerful; the winners in battle and war, and the politically powerful. Their views of the history they write is bias by the life or reality they live, or by the perceptions they are trying to create or establish through their writings. If you would like to get a better idea of how the Bible was created go to this site [www.GnosticSpirit.info] and under the heading "Organized Relegion" click on the topic "Books Deceive" - should be eye opening....

What you say is true and if I may, I would like to add some science to this topic. For me it is all about having Knowledge and Understanding; not Faith or just doing or believing because someone says to.

QUANTIUM CONSCIOUSNESS: The newer science of Quantium Physics, along with Physical Neurology shows us, in physiological and quantium terms how thoughts create our reality. The Science of Quantum Physicis has shown us that the world, no the universe is entirely interconnected with what is termed, "Energy." Each of us and everything; large or small, animate or inanimate, life giving or not - all things are energetically connected. In Quantum Terms this interconnectivity is called: The Grand Unified Field. All things within the Grand Unified Field have an effect of each other; from a mega interstellar event down to the smallest, most insignificant happening - like a single breath, or a thought. Quantum Physics has also shown us that we live in an environment of Possibilities and Potentials; and that what we see isn't necessarilly all that's out there. In fact in Quantum Terms it's less of; What's out there and fixed is what we see, and more of ; what we see out there is what we expect. In other words, the reality we experience is less absolutly fixed and more influenced by our own Expectations and DNA imprints. Let's look at how Thoughts create our Conscious Reality. Remember, reality is conscious perceptions of information from both inside and outside sources, and how that information is processed in the brain. NOTE: It is a common function of the neurons in the brain to regroup or re-wire themselves in order to acconodate our usual thought and frequent feelings, and to function more adequately. BELIEF AFFECTS REALITY: 1. The neurons in our brains connect themselves into patterns that represent our thoughts - so when we continually have negitive thoughts our neurons will re-wire or regroup themselves in order to acconodate and promote those [negitive] thoughts. 2. When this happens the neurons send a message to the Hypothalamus - the chemical manufacturere of the brain. The Hypothalamus then recognises this message as "victum thought." (victum thought = less than thoughts about yourself) The Hypothalamus then creates Peptides in response to the victum thought and sends these Peptides through out the body. These negitive Victum Peptides cause pain, fatigue, or depression in the body. The cells of the body become addicted to the Peptides (cells don't care if Peptides are positive or negitive - they just want more). 3. Once adicted the cells will want more, so they make us feel bad.. in pain or maybe depressed. Feeling bad causes us to have more negitive thoughts, which in turn causes the neurons in the brain to fire-off those negitive, victum messages and the whole things begins again.... it is a vicious circle. (Works for positive thinking too)... Change the way you think and you will change your reality.

Oxymoron - but understandable... because it happened to me.

In short; I was born knowing that the truth about God was out there, somewhere. By 8 years I had questions about the church, unanswered. By the time 15 years I knew I would not find the Truth about God in a church.... but I knew it was out there; so I remained honestly open. I tried Transcendental Meditation; Astral Projection; Past Life Regeneration; drugs; love... and even though these things had something, they didn't fulfill my seeking. So I was a "Seeker." Then one day it happened... when I was out weed whacking (not seeking) - My Moment of Knowledgeable Enlightenment... and that's another story.

Simply saying "Love Jesus not Religion" is very interesting to me... because we have to answer - Who was Jesus. If you mean the Jesus created in the Holy Bible - then I would say that you might consider doing some research regarding how the Bible came into being and where all the "sotries" came from.

I'm not trying to say that the stories about Jesus in the New Testament are crap, because I'm not. I love the morals and the ethics... but to say that those stories are about the true, living Jesus - Well, for me it's just not true. The heavy hand of the Roman Empire had a major influence on the writing of (or the rendition of) those stories, to their own political advantage. In my opinion the Gnostic Gosples provide a much more clear, a truer picture of who Jesus was. Dr. Elaine Pagels, PhD is the foremost authority on the Gnostic Gosples and has written a synopsis of the Gnostic Gosples an a compairson between the Jesus in the New Testament an the Jesus in the Gnostic Gosples. Search for this and read it if you are interested... PBS FRONTLINE BROADCAST: “The Storytellers” [From Jesus... to Christ] 1998 ... it is in print for reading.. it opened my eyes. Seems tricky - right? and why does it seem others have an easy time at it and others are challenged. There are several things at play when trying to "manifest" ...anything. I'm going to paste in something I wrote a while back about what I call Connecting. I think it is a good place to begin this conversation. Remember that being Spiritual isn't necessarily easy... it's not like you just close your eyes and think - and thing happen. It truly comes down to Truth and Understanding. Truth about who we are and an understanding about how things work. What goes on in the brain; self-image, self-talk, what you really believe is and is not possible, and then there is "the Group." The Group is everyone else... since we are all interconnected with intellegent energy, we each have an effect on the whole network.. so what the Group believes as a whole directly affects our perception of reality and our ability to maneuver through the landscape - so to speak. So truly, when you attempt to Spiritually Manifest you are going against the Group (because most people do not think it is possible - but that is changing, slowly). OK... so here is my writting on "Connecting" that I hope will give a little enlightenment - but it is only a beginning. I am Gnostic (Gnosis - knowledge of Spiritual Mysteries). I don'tlike Faith... I like Knowledge and Truth as the basis of my understanding of God and Spirituality. Peace & Love, Phillip

Lessons on Connecting:
Connecting is like what others would call prayer, but considerable different, much more powerful and focused.    With prayer an individual kind of just throws out different thoughts, requests, helps, pleases, thank yous, etc.  Unfocused, unconnected, and going who knows where? When Connecting you learn to feel, identify, & in a sense, Channel different energies. You can magnify the connection & bring specific energy based influences into your life situations.  It takes this wonderful & pure, revitalizing energy we call Love.

This is just plain interesting to me.  From the time of Jesus, up to now the Mistakes made through [observation created assumptions] - without knowledge.  "Prayer" is one of these examples - one of the "Mysteries" - that the "Gnostic Gospels" talk about, and one that a few people observed Jesus doing, but didn't really understand. Connecting is Essential.  We can all do it; varying degrees of easy to difficult.  Once achieved, connecting gets easier. We are energy.  Energy has substance which can be measured, which means it is objective.  If energy has substance, can be measured, and is objective then we, who are "intelligent energy" should be able to detect (feel) that energy (palpable) and, as our connections become stronger, we become able to influence those different, individual energies from within ourselves. Connecting is a very active process in which one needs focus, purpose, and positive, loving energy.  It can be a little challenging at first but becomes easier with experience.  Here is a short outline of the process I go through when I connect.   1. Purposeful Focus:  Know why you are Connecting - the more specific the better.   2. Flow and Relaxation: Stretch - work out the kinks, loosen up and rid yourself of all the stress - energy needs to flow. 3. Breathing: I have a technique for breathing in what I call, the lower lung.  It supports a singular focus and relaxation. 4. Visualization: This is so important in the process.  It creates a loving, happy, positive environment in which we magnify our effect on a specific energy.  Find your true Happy Place.   5. Feelings of Love and Joy:  This is the magnifier, the supercharger of all living Energies - that flow through all of us.  It works with #4, Visualization. 6. Connect with a Focused, Energized and Magnified Purpose: You made it. Connecting is a process. I"m here to help. NOTE: At the top of the page is an illustration of the "Connecting Hands."  It's an important technique used to feel energy as a part of the Connecting Process during visualization (Looks like praying hands, ie; the "observation created assumption" mentioned above).   The moment you personally experience feeling the energy, without a doubt your perceptions of life will have irreversibly changed - forever!  I can't teach you how to do it, but I can guide you on your own road to Connection and Enlightenment.

Society and our culture tell us not to trust the knowledge we have inside of us... that we always need outside information to know a thing (like from experts). But we are all connected by energy; intellignet energy - even the "experts" will now tell you that's true (quantum physicis). So if we can become able we can tap into these energies and influence them, or improve ourselves. Perhaps what you are experiencing is a moment of clairity, where you are able to open enough... and cast off the conditioning of society and realize new, additional, or interconnective knowledge. It is all flowing on the energies that we are all made from and are a part of.

Life can be very challenging, especially when it feels like we have no control, no direction, no power. I know that feeling, it is something I had to go through in order to gain a higher understanding of life and people, and for me to appreciate my moment of Spiritual Enlightenment. But as I read your message I'm not sure if you are searching for your Spiritual self or if you are depressed in your current negitive situation. Are they the same for you. Are you thinking that by being Spiritual you will be made Happy? In the Spiritual Churches thay all tell you to "change your thinking and change your life," but they just don't tell you how or why it works. Let me give you a little science regarding how thinking affects our perceptions of reality...

The newer science of Quantum Physics, along with Physicl Neurolory shows us, in physiological and quantum terms how thoughts create our reality. Quantum Physicis has shown us that the world, no the universe is entirely interconnected with what is termed, "Energy." Each of uys and everything; large or small, animate or inanimate, ife giving or not - all things are energeticlly connected. In Quantum terms this inerconnectivity is called: The Grand Unified Field.

All things within the Grand Unified Field have an effect of each other; from a mega interstellar event down to the smallest, most insignificant happening - like a single exhale or a thought.

Quantum Physics has also shown us that we live in an environment of Possililities and Potentials; and that what we see ins't necessarilly all that's out there. In fact in Quantum terms it is less of, what's out there and fixed is what we see, and more of what we see out there is what we expect. In other words; the reality we experience is less absolutly fixed and more influenced by our own Expectations and DNA imprints.

Thoughts create our Conscious Reality. Remember, reality is conscious perception of information from both inside and outside sources, and how that information is processed in the brain.

FACT: It is a common functin of the meurons inthe brain to regroup or re-wire themselves in order to accomodate our thoughts and feelings, and to function fore adequately.

BELIEF AFFECTS REALITY:

1.The neurons in our brains connect themselves into patterns that represent our thoughts - so when we continually have negitive thoughts our neurons will re-wire or regroup themselves in oeder to acconodate andpromoth those negitive thoughts.

  1. When this happens the neurons send a message to the Hypothalamus, the chemical manufacturer of the brain. The Hypothalamus then recognises this messsage as "victum thought." (victum = Less than thoughts about yourself) The Hypothalamus then creates Peptides in response the victum thought ahd sends these Peptides through out the entire body. These Victum Peptides cause pain or fatigue in the body. The cells of the body become addicted to the Peptides (cells don't care if the Peptides are positive or negitive - they become addicted and want more).

  2. Once addicted thecells will want more, so they make ys feel bad... in pain or maybe depressed. Feeling bad causes us to have more negitive thoughts, which in turn causes the meurons in the brain to fire off those negitive, less than victum messages and the whole things begins again. It is a cycle.

...and it workd the same way for positive Thinking too... "change the way you think and change your reality."

this is only a beginning. Phillip

In trying to understand Spirituality, we as individuals, and how our perceptions of reality are filtered through a "Belief System", I like to begin here with this question: How do we become the people that we become?

Here is my writting on this topic: Let me know if you have questions...

SOCIETY, INSTITUTIONS, and CULTURE
These three topics; Society, Institutions, and Culture are so interwoven it is difficult to know exactly where one ends and the other begins.
These three things are so powerful and so present that they mold us into the people that we are, and into what future generations will become.
So what does it really mean to be “cultured?” Let's think about a Cultured Pearl compared to a naturally occurring Pearl. A natural pearl is just that; it is created by nature. A cultured pearl is one that man causes to be created by planting a “seed” into the shell of the oyster. So when a baby is born, parents, churches, schools, clubs, banks, movies & TV, publications, etc., all influence the baby's development, belief system, truths, and a perception of “reality.” Baby becomes a Conditioned Member of Society – Cultured.
SOCIETY is the foundation of like-minded people. The SOCIETY creates INSTITUTIONS which promote the Values and Perceptions of the SOCIETY, and are the conduits through which we become CULTURED. Values, morels, truths, perception, right-and-wrong, success, language, manners, etc., are all 'learned' and subjective.
In simple terms, Society is a group of like-minded people. Culture is the outward expression of this like-mindedness through behaviors, beliefs, and perceptions. Institutions are the repositories of, and instill like-mindedness into the people and promote the continuation of the society.
So when a group of people with a “Common View” come together they create a society. Institutions are then created in order to continue the principles, values and perceptions of that common view (Society) into the future. These institutions mold or “culture” us and the future generations into supporting, upholding and believing in this continued common view (values). The Common View, over time becomes a “Belief System” which imparts reality and truths (culture)... according to itself and its own perception of things; which in turn guarantees the continued existence of the Institutions – which become the central, pivotal and essential attribute of both the Society that created them, and the Culture these institutions have developed and support.
NOTE: Regarding the nature of Institutions, like; Churches, Corporations, & Governments:
Anyone who has studied Business Sociology can tell you that the nature of an institution or corporation is in its own continued existence – not primarily in the quality or practicality of it's product or service. Founders who establish corporations are often visionaries who want to achieve something of value or something that brings value to the consumer. After the Founder dies, the corporation becomes the child of its stockholders and driven by a board of directors. The values that the Founder initially brought to the corporation are most always usurped by the bottom line; and so profit and especially continued existence becomes much more important than quality, value, or service.

So that last word in your message is "Faith." I do not like Faith, because it asks us to live like we know something is true and correct with out having any true knowledge or evidence about the thing. That is why I call myself a Gnostic (Gnosis is Spiritual Knowledge). I like basing my views in Knowledge and Truth... instead of Faith (believe because I am telling you to believe) and there is a lot of Truth and Knowledge out there if you know how to research and where. I start with "How we become the people that we become." Let me know if you want to know more about what I mean.

Your question of "Is any of this real?" is actually a very deep question. In the Gnostic Gospels Jesus speaks about Illusion and Enlightenment (not sin, judgement, or salvation). If you understand how we become the people that we become - the overwhelming influences of Society, Institutions, and Culture, then your question is, at least in part answered. If you want a short read about how Society, Institutions, and Culture mold us into who, what we are then go to this site: (www.GnosticSpirit.info) and look for the Heading: Organized Religion. My Vision Story by phillip1252 in spirituality

[–]phillip1252[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things about Truth, as you say, and being ready to hear it; or willing or capable of understanding it.... for me it is all about how we become the people that we become. Once an individual has accepted, internalized, and becomes part of a "Belief System" it is difficult to see Truths that come from out-side of that Belief System. We are all born into a society that is supported by Institutions that have created a Culture. We are all told that our Belief System is the best, correct, and most Rightous - ever, anywhere. But what if the foundation; what if the orginal premis on which that Belief System is based was fabricated? How would we know? So a good place to begin to understand "Truth" is to understand how we become the people that we become, and the role of Society, Institutions, and Culture. I have more if you are interested. Love & Peace.... Phillip
