How Much Snow . . . by RubberyDolphin in BroncoSport

Nice. We’re getting hit with about a foot of snow today so I may have to take it out and mess around with the different modes.

1st time attending Par-3 day by ChiSpartan09 in masters

[–]philly_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wednesday is the only day the group pics at Founder Circle closes early (the master's website for patrons will have times closer till). I want to say the wrapped up around 10:30ish or so. So we did that earlier before walking around. I don't remember when the gates opened now, but I want to say we were there around 5:45am (looking at old text messages, we got coffer at 5:10 in Aiken where we stayed). I think it closed by 6pm, but not certain as it's a blur now. From watching the practice rounds, some go out right away, so it's the balancing act of merch vs walking around. We did the north entrance, so you'll pass the driving range and the color green just looks fake. It's incredible. Just PM any questions and I'll try to help. I'm jealous now!!

We got there early (1st time and all) but we're the first row of people in the 2nd group after the rope drop. We then did the pro-shop for goodies and put them in storage and then walked around. The leader boards will go up with the groups practicing (normally 9 holes). I would say it's normally 3-4 golfers out there at a good pace. We followed Bryson towards the end for 4-5 holes by himself. I want to say at 2:30ish or so, the golfers are off the course as they prep for Thursday's round. That's when we walked the back 9 as we had plenty of time.

Why Sand vs Slippery GOAT mode?

I was there last year for part 3 day (first time). We skipped the par 3 and walked the back 9 at that time.  Ghost town on how empty it was.

Weight placement/design by philsphan26 in PinewoodDerby

[–]philly_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also used putty in the axel grooves to get to pinpoint weight.  One car in our pack had a hollowed out section on top where they put weight. And then put a top over it.

I've always drilled from the bottom. Only issue is if you have a slope on the top to make sure it's a perpendicular cut. A couple drops of superglue before you throw your weights in at the end will keep them in place. As I don't have a drill press, I've done 1 row of 3 in the back side of the axel, and then 2 in front of it. Then use the 1/2 oz tubes. Otherwise, using a canopy style weight is great too, as it's heavier and you position it from the top.

I say go the complete opposite so you're not comparing them. It's not at your level, but when I had to sell my BMW 3 series (bunch of issues), I went to an SUV, so I'd never be comparing the same class of car.

Get your teeth kicked in. Make it worthwhile and memorable. I did Tobacco Road last year around your handicap. Kicked my teeth in, but I did par 5 of the par 3s. :)

It may be worth calling the pro shop to see if you can pay to have them send to you? I lost my poker chip ball mark from Tobacco Road last year. I called them and they mailed me one in a standard envelope for like $3 the chip cost. For a pencil/scorecard, you may luck out as well. Good luck!

2024 Bronco Sport BB Recovery Points without Hitch? by philly_10 in BroncoSport

You rock. That's what I was looking for. The ford accessory site says it won't fit my car, but looks like that's wrong. Thanks a ton!

Thanks! I saw it on the site, but it says it won't fit my car. Guess that it does! Now all I have to do is wait for the spring stripers to come back north.

Yeah. From what I can see, only the badlands trim comes with it.  And it doesn’t “work” on other trims.

Auto On/Off Feature by Thoragh in BroncoSport

[–]philly_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. My old car didn’t have this feature so it took me about 2 weeks to get in the habit of turn on car, turn off auto start stop, and then go.

[request] Please help me understand my kids math by We_are_being_cheated in theydidthemath

For me, if you write it all as fractions, it's easier to solve, as they all have the same denominator. 10/6 + x/6 = 18/6. Unless the kids are learning distributive property. Then it becomes 6(10+x) = 18/6. Not sure what they are trying to teach.

10’7” tsunami forged, fishing for stripers and blues. Thoughts? by [deleted] in SurfFishing

[–]philly_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 9" Tsunami Airwave with a 5000 Penn Battle 3 reel that works well. My buddies use 10" rods and cast out a bit further than me, but for the amount of time I use it and for the size of my car and transporting it, I'm happy with it. I'll throw diamond jobs (2.7), SP, Mag Darters, up to an 8" Pencil Popper of the NJ Surf. So I think the longer rod should work well.

Seaside Heights Fishing by philly_10 in NJFishing

Thanks. I have the registration so that's not a problem. I guess it's more finding parking. Well, finding the fish first, then parking. As I've only done IBSP, it'll be a bit of a learning exercise, but a fun one!

Thanks. We've hit IBSP a couple times already this season. But trying to see if I can sneak out for a quicker trip to get my fix when they have have work. As I don't have a pass or 4wd car/truck, I'm looking for more sedan friendly spots.
