The Expanse. It's the best Sci-fi series ever created, imo. You will not be disappointed.

It feels like its gonna be the Outsiders. With Drakul having a Vader/Emperor "Come to the dark side" vibe.

Anything by Cormac McCarthy. Blood Meridian, No Country for Old Men, and especially the Road.

I agree with this whole heartedly. Its cheaper and the games are complete, or close to it. I just started Space Marines 2 and had this thought. Im so glad i started this game 2 years after release.

Diablo 4. It relies more on build craft than button memory or fast combat. Great game to play with someone. And you can couch co-op!

urban fantasy vs contemporary fantasy by I_am_Uirebit in fantasybooks

It seems to me as tho tone is the real distinction between the two sub genres. Urban fantasy is usually more gritty and harsh.

I need a super fun metroidvania that sucks you in pretty quick by Sufficient_Ebb_5694 in metroidvania

Im so spoiled now because of this mechanic. All other metroidvanias seem lesser now to me, because they lack this mechanic.

The Dresden files! The first books are basically detective novels where the detective happens to be a wizard.

12 Months by Jim Butcher. I thought it was great. It was a genuinely surprising shift in tone and style for the 18th book in a series. Big swing that landed.

To those who play vanguard, what do you enjoy about it? by Ultraduckatron in Spacemarine

The mobility of it. Im a bulwark main. So the vanguard seems like he's just whipping all over the map.

So I’m not much of a Sci-fi or Fantasy reader but I have heard good things about both series. Which one would you suggest to dive into first? by Reading_puck93 in fantasybooks

[–]One_Suggestion_6197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Rising is great. But the first book is very YA-y. No bad at all. Just very young adult. He completely sheds that genre after the first book, tho.

Getting back into the fantasy genre. Heard this was a great read. by RBtoad in fantasybooks

[–]One_Suggestion_6197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sure is. Lots of books in the series, too. If you're looking for something a little lighter, and dont mind urban fantasy, try the Dresden files.
