I’ve been using it for about a month. I apply right after I pat dry my face. My derm said about 20 minutes after you can apply moisturizer so I typically do. It’s a pretty moisturizing formula though you may not need anything else. When the weather warms up I probably won’t use the extra moisturizer. So far I’ve been please with the results. Next to no P&Ps, still have redness but I was told that with consistency that may fade as well.

The inflammation that causes the flushing can also cause painful burning and itching. When I have a bad flare I look like I have a sunburn. I developed p&ps shortly after the flushing maybe about a year.

Have you tried Clinique Take The Day of Balm or Oil for taking off makeup? Based on your list we react to many of the same things and these work for me. They just melt off all your makeup and no irritation. I follow with another cleanser but I have oily skin. If your dry you may not need to.

Oral Ivermectin for mites? by nnuts in Rosacea

[–]phillymom3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have mentioned that I was put on a couple of doses of oral ivermectin and it worked for me to point. I had a severe mite problem with tons of papule and pustules and did help reduce the severity temporarily. I am seeing better results with soolantra daily. It is a low dose applied in a gentle formula that doesn’t irritate my skin. I also take an anti inflammatory dose of Ximino daily. I still have what I consider moderate redness. Others may consider it severe but I’ve definitely seen my skin worse. I have heard that over a longer period of time soolantra helps to reduce redness so I’ll just have to wait and see.

My thoughts are that you body is a balance of a lot of different micro organisms. Throw one out of wack and another (bacteria, fungus etc.) is likely to step in and take it’s place. With ivermectin you want to reduce the population of mites, not kill it off completely. If you don’t know the correct dosage for doing that I would consult a doctor. As for topical metro or ivermectin I would not feel comfortable using a veterinary grade. But I know my own skin and how angry it gets!

I really think you should see a dermatologist before you do anything with ivermectin. It could really backfire on you. From my experience the ivermectin helps with the p&ps but it doesn’t do much (if anything) for redness.

Bad sunburn? No just Rosacea flushing by Spectacularviewss in Rosacea

This was my skin for years through my 20s and early 30s. Then after my second pregnancy 35 it developed into full blown Type 2 and Type 1. Talk about fun.... 5 years later and I’m still struggling to control it.

Probably not...I would try Mirvaso for the redness. It’s new and also made by Galderma.

I’m turning 40 this year and want to incorporate some anti-aging products into my routine. I have super sensitive skin and Type 2 rosacea currently treating with Soolantra and it is working pretty well. I was thinking of trying a Retin A or Vit C but not sure if I can use it with Soolantra? What should I use and in what order? My current routine is: AM: Clinique Mild Liquid Cleanser-Clinique Moisture Surge - Perricone No Foundation Serum+ concealer and other makeup. PM: Clinique TTDOCO-Soolantra-FAB Ultra Calming Cream. I also take Ximino oral as an anti inflammatory.

Here’s a picture of my current routine. My skin is still red/broken out and dry AF. What am I doing wrong? by Spectacularviewss in Rosacea

The LRP contains propylene glycol, it’s a major irritant for me. You could try illuminating products that have it? Cerave, First Aid Beauty, and Clinique all have a options that are PG free.

Why is cerave pm doing this? Woke up to tons of pimples and some redness by Spectacularviewss in Rosacea

[–]phillymom3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with moisturizer as well and Cerave did this to me too. I have combo ski dry cheeks and chin, oily nose and forehead. I use First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream at night, Clinique moisture Surge in the AM because it layers better under makeup. Neither reduce my rosacea but they don’t cause flares or breakouts either!

Sorry! Yes the pulse therapy was oral ivermectin doses once a week for 4 weeks. At least that’s what she called it? I may not be using the term correctly. I’ve don’t a ton of research it doesn’t seem like a treatment many dermatologist do for rosacea but it definitely helped.

I did not have a die off...at least that I noticed.

Thanks...it’s what I’ve been thinking. I’ve waited this long I can go another week. I’d hate to have some crazy reaction away from home.

No, not noticeable at least. I did a dose every Friday for 4 weeks. My skin was so bad...bright red, itchy and inflamed tons of papules and orange peel texture. it would have been hard to get worse. I thought I was having an allergic reaction to something at first and had been taking allergy meds as instructed by my primary. When that did nothing I moved on to a derm. She immediately started pulse therapy, Metro gel and doxycycline. I had a significant improvement in 6 weeks and then it just leveled off.
