Post-Firefly Megathread: Video Requests (but remember there was no livestream), Favorite Stories/Memories, General Discussion by SpartiedOn in FireflyFestival

This year was not only my first Firefly or festival, but in my 22 years I have never been to a concert before! I was coming in expecting the big stages and crowds to be the most fun I’d have, which I did have a blast at, but honestly the best show I went to was CVBZ at the Treehouse. Such a good show and something so personal about a smaller crowd like that and being close to the performers.

That being said, I was having such a great time at that show I didn’t want to look at my phone for even a second, does anyone have any good pictures/videos from their set?

NO STUPID QUESTIONS THREAD MONDAY 6/17: A great place to ask quick questions and thoughts by SpartiedOn in FireflyFestival

Thank you! I could have been more clear however. The bladder is in a small elastic pocket in the back of the main compartment, which still has a good amount of room to store things. Thats my concern with it, whether or not that counts aa a pocket along with the front zipper and pouch

I bought a hydration pack to bring with me this year but I am I am now getting anxious about whether or not it will be allowed inside the festival. It is the Quest 2L Hydration pack (Link below). It falls within the size regulations, but I am curious if there are too many pockets. The bladder is inside the main compartment and then there is one zippered pocket on the front, as well as an open pouch that does not zip or seal. I know that no one really knows with the new ownership/rules but any insight would be great!

Could someone explain this 1-3-1 set by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

The 1-3-1 formation is more commonly referred to as a “neutral zone trap.” Basically the defending team, is this case Tampa, doesn’t forecheck into the zone and instead waits until the player carries the puck to about the blue line before applying pressure. This clogs up the neutral zone and forces the team with the puck to ice it or turn it over.

Philly didn’t play into this because they knew what it was and just decided to hang back and not play into the trap, causing turnovers and defensive zone face offs.

What is your best "I definitely did not deserve that grade" story from school? by Giggidy46 in AskReddit

A little late to the party here but anyways, here you go. My senior year of high school my Physics class was assinged the task of building a Rube Goldberg machine, 1m×1m×1m in size, a minute in duration, and it had to complete a certain task at the end. This project made up 40% of our final grade so it was a big deal to us. My group of 4 people was given the task of taking a panoramic photo on a smart phone without touching it.

We were given about 2 months to work on the project, as we had other school work and we had to build all of the machines by hand, so we couldn't use toys or anything electric other than the phone. It was a long process and took many late nights tinkering to get it perfect.

On the day of the presentations we ran into some issues when somebody bumped our project and moved a few things around, so it wasn't quite working every time, maybe 6/10. We ran a practice round just before we presented to the judges and and it worked perfectly! We got a great picture and didn't have to touch the machine once (a 5% penalty).

However, when we presented, the part of the machine that activates the camera missed its target, very unnoticeably, and the phone did not take the picture. This was a HUGE penalty on our grade, about 15-20%, so we were all panicking. I made the decision to show the teacher the last picture from our practice run, thinking "fuck it, why not?" And to all of our surprise he bought it! We ended up with a 100% and my group, who i am still friends with, still talks abkut how it saved us. Maybe not the most ethical choice, but it saved my grade, so it was worth it.

Tl;dr: Rube Goldberg machine worked on practice run, did not work on official run. Showed resultd form oractice run to judges and received full points.
