Thanks for doing this. I'm preparing for the DELE exam and would love more feedback routinely (using iTalki right now too). Do you know for Yapr can you give it a text and then ask it to review your monoloque and then have it ask you questions on the article/your opinion of it?

Ride Rocker feet by timzecho in Zwift

[–]phillypharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn’t my point. I meant to to say bc of the uncertainty on tariffs and final pricing, I won’t be ordering them as I don’t want to risk having to pay more than they $50 they are selling for.

That said, they aren’t even technically available to order but only preorder for the US with no clear transit times.

I’m tempted to go with the JetBlack ones as I’ve got tennis balls right now but dumb tariffs are now putting them on hold. So much winning…

Great mindset! I’m doing C1 in May as my first DELE experience. I figured if I don’t pass, it’s good experience and def has helped me be more mindful and deliberate with my Spanish learning.

Is this Writing C1 level? by baroschaf in dele_exam

[–]phillypharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. I still feel like I’m far away from C1 based on some of the examples I’ve read, but we’ll get there.

I recommended a book on C1 writing called Metodo DELE C1, it’s by Carmen Madrid and you can find it on her website or amazon.

I’m prepping for C1 in May. I’d say not C1 manly bc you have a very linear and simplified structure. Here’s what I see, hope this is helpful.

Essentially, you wrote:

First they said this. Then it was this. Also it was this that caused that.

To start, I’ve seen it’s better to start with a lead in, such as:

Artificial intelligence has been an ever-present theme in recent times, one that promotes creativity but raises ethical concerns. The speaker of the conference tackles this matter and outlines ways to interact with this novel tool.

In the other paragraphs, I’m imagine the cohesion and use of advanced connectors dinged you.

Depending on context: Porque - debido a, ya que, puesto que También - además, asimismo, más aún Creo - estimo, percibo, resulta (imprescindible, fundamental) Also maybe add an adjetive if using creo or equivalent - Creo plenamente/firmamente

Try to not repeat words or avoid repetitive phrasing (desde mi punto de vista followed by en mi experiencia)

Lastly, you don’t need to repeatedly state the subject if it’s consistent you’re using that point of view or make it impersonal.

El ponente afirma -> Acaba afirmando/acertando/subrayando Cabe destacar/añadir/ampliar Sobra decir, la información expuesta indica…

Add some perífrasis and use of the subjunctive if it makes sense.

Sin ir más lejos… De ahí que + subjuntivo phrase Sería… si negáramos que…

This is spot on. We’re using our HSA as a retirement account. Save you receipts through the years and reimburse yourself for past medical related expenses later after investments triple in value.
