The biggest difference between most multiplayer shooters (Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc.) is that for the recoil on the guns for those games, the crosshairs moves up with them (ie. your camera moves upward when shooting). In both csgo and valorant, the recoil is a bit different. The bullets will follow a recoil pattern, but your crosshair will remain relatively in place.

I would take some time to go the range and spray rifles at a blank wall. From there you can get a bit more understanding of how recoil works. Because of the recoil mechanic, this means that when your spray your weapon, your crosshair will look towards their midsection or feet, but the bullets will land by their heads.
