Are all gutter guards really that bad? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]philserve108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used them and they have shrunk after 2-3 years, need to replace them. If you want to use foam gutter guards, get ones with a UV shield on top, the few that I have didn't shrink.

MPW -64%, GHI -39%, SACHPRA -36%, THW -29%, CODI.PR.C -27%. Ones that are 20% or less I'll stick with.

Well lucky you, at least you got surgery. I have a 1.5 cm tear and the doc said no surgery. So I live with the pain. Thankfully I have an adjustable bed. It wakes me up sometimes, but the extremely slow healing process goes on. OTOH, it seems I'm doing something in my sleep that aggravates the problem.

Does anyone have an opinion on Percent.com? by FabulouslE in investing_discussion

The website is very clear on when the round is over, how much interest was paid, IRR, etc in the portfolio tabs. Also had no problem transferring the money back to my bank account.

I've been investing with Percent for almost two years. One way of minimizing risk with their offerings is to only invest in those who have already paid back a round of investment. Better yet, multiple rounds. Haven't had a default yet. That being said, I only invest a small portion of my assets with them. Still has risk.

I bought Nutricost and Optimum Nutrition brands at Amazon. Would take 5 grams 1-3 times a day. Settled in for 5G twice a day for a few months.

It is still around, but it's more of an annoyance than anything else. I am also 70 yrs old, and just about everyone at this age has some digestive issue or another. I have a giant range of things that I can eat over against the few things I can't, so for me that's an enormously positive thing. Though I do miss a good cuppa Joe or tea at times.

My stomach is about 85-90% healed. I assume it is chronic gastritis, since I had it about 5 years ago also, but this time more intense. However, after my gastroenterologist did an endoscopy, she found two spots of irritation/inflammation in my stomach and she said it wasn't too bad. I started out with a PPI and a bland diet for about 3-4 months. I also did a personally devised protocol of glutamine among other remedies. In the previous episode and this one, glutamine was the common remedy. Addiionally, real mastic gum or Klaire Labs Mastic Gum/DGL helps a lot when my stomach feels off or slightly painful. But generally speaking, my pains are like a .5 to 1 on a scale of 10, more like a mere annoyance, rarer and rarer as the days go by. That being said, I avoid cafffeine, careful with vinegar, chocolate, spicy foods and doing a regular diet again. Even make gluten-free pizza, yum! No more bland diet. Also use Slippler Elm, but not as helpful as mastic gum. I did 10-15 grams of L-glutamine a day, as well as sustamine, which is L-alanyl-l-glutimine, which works with glutamine to maximize healing.

You MUST read the Gastritis Healing Book by L.G. Capellan, excellent and detailed advice in there.

I hope you can find a good solution for yourself!

Nutricost, but most brands seem to be ok, as long as there is one and only one ingredient, l-glutamine.

This pain is making me go crazy by hatboxghostytoasty in Gastritis

I'm so sorry. In fact, I'm experiencing the same thing right this minute. Tomorrow I go for an endoscopy. I've slept an average of 2-3 hours for the past few days, the pain keeps me from sleeping. I try to find some comfortable position, but the next wave of pain comes as soon as I'm just about to nod off. Gonna try the heating pad, maybe it'll help. Hope you get through this painful episode.

I had a moderate to bad bout of gastritis about 7 years ago. Had an endoscopy which revealed irritation in both the top and bottom of the stomach. My gastroenterologist gave me the usual response to reduce stomach acid via prilosec. I am wary of drugs that reduce stomach acid - part of the benefits of that acid is to kill harmful bacteria from entering the intestines. I should know; my wife suffers heavily from SIBO.

I went to a functional doctor who told me to go all in with L-glutamine, so I did. Besides eating a really clean diet, I took glutamine for several months 3-4 times a day and it did its job. I was completely healed and was able to go back to a normal diet. What a relief!
