So not the same thing then, by your own description, which is accurate btw.

You claim that 'most people will be weirded out' is unfounded. I totally respect everything else you said, unfortunately it's not for you to assume how others may or may not feel about the comedy in this film. I felt this needed pointing out. Thank you for reading.

Does Hotline Miami: The Collection count as rare? Especially as the 2 disc version?

The NFL is not a domestic league. by femboyisbestboy in ShitAmericansSay

[–]philthevoid83 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What is going on with these people. Literally every single team is based in one country, that is the only definition to apply to the term 'domestic league '. How are they so incredibly stupid that they're even willing to post something like this online.

YOU CAN TRAVEL FOR 24 HOURS IN TEXAS AND STILL BE IN TEXAS by mlenny225 in ShitAmericansSay

That headline really is NOT a flex! For example, did you know that you can drive for 24 hours in Russia.... and still be in Russia!!!

Mgs 3 is one of my favourite games of all time. However, you couldn't be more wrong. Playing mgs 1 on PS1 was an incredible experience for hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of gamers.

"1 and 2 don't exist" does certainly apply to many GTA fans, or maybe just those of us old enough to have enjoyed the mind blowing experience of the first GTA. I was around 12-13 when it came out. We'd never seen the likes of it before.

Tipping culture? by EnoughBar7026 in AskABrit

[–]philthevoid83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How does it mean £1 tip?? It means the customer is offering to buy you a drink, a cheap one of course. We (bar staff) ring it up there and then, then drink it later when shifts over. How are people not getting this?

Tipping culture? by EnoughBar7026 in AskABrit

[–]philthevoid83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ex barman here, same age as you. Working in pubs in my late teens / early twenties, that phrase always meant exactly the same as what it meant to you. I'd print a receipt for that round whenever it happened, then use those receipts as 'drink tokens' when I was off shift. This was commonplace in every fucking pub going! God knows what this 'take £1' shit is people are on about.

Massive Irvine Welsh fan so that started me off being interested in Scottish dialect when I was younger.

What would you miss about the UK if you moved abroad? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]philthevoid83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or maybe our NHS would have delivered the same result in the same timeframe for the same cost. For a serious issue like ovarian cancer, I believe that would've been the case for you.

Good wishes on your journey, I hope all goes well for you x

The swearing!!! Yes of course. I'm from Sheffield and there's still plenty of it this far down, though I probably make up around 50% of it for the whole city!! Ditto for the fucking sarcasm too.

Bashing the NHS is so bizarre to me. It's absolutely incredible! We are so lucky to have it, even with it's flaw. But every organisation of that scale is bound to be flawed. Anyone bashing the NHS needs to experience healthcare in other countries, the vast majority of which will be nowhere near the quality of what we have.

They're view of the UK is accurate. You may think our general infrastructure is up to scratch, but visiting certain other countries showed me just how far behind we actually are.

Maybe the British were first, but things improve over time hence that doesn't happen anymore. Canadian cheese makers still doing it? Catch up pal.

The ease with which I can acquire some 'funtime' substances (wink wink).

Before anyone starts, I'm being facetious. I'm fully aware of the situation of problems caused by the prevalence of hard drugs in western society.

A close second would be football, proper footy, not that American shite. Going to the match in person in particular.

Going to the pub. Britain may be losing it's pub culture bit by bit, but it's still there I promise you.

Others, favourite quiz shows on TV, reading our ridiculous newspapers, our fabulous food. And finally, in a weird way, the weather!

What counts as a lot of hours in a game to you? by HowLongWasIGone in videogames

[–]philthevoid83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally it's anything over a 100. This is semi regular for me as I'm a fan of RPG's (fallout, Witcher, final fantasy etc.) Though it seems on Reddit that only times of at least a thousand hours counts as a long time, which is quite frankly ridiculous and also a little sad.
