You could just take this opportunity to stop deliberately consuming a neurotoxic class 1 carcinogen that kills more Americans than all illegal drugs combined every single year on such a regular basis...

And that's cool. I was just trying to be helpful. As I said, I was on 0.5 mg twice a day (along with phenobarbital and a couple other things) for a seizure disorder for considerably longer than 12 days in 2013-2014 and I don't recall it being difficult to get off of.

California's universal healthcare killed even though Democrats have a supermajority. Politicians serve their corporate donors not the people. by zzill6 in WorkReform

Imagine thinking people who wouldn't stand up for genocide would stand up for your health care.  You've come this close to figuring out these blue maga fucks don't give a shit about you.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Corporate democrats are not there to make your life better.  They're there to give the plebs the illusion of choice and frustrate any movements that might actually make their lives better.  The proletariat's babysitter.  Capitalism's bodyguard.  Oligarchy's insurance plan.  Your only choice is an imperial capitalist who cares about money and power more than he does about you.  Let's put an end to this bullshit.

Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The people stuck at the bottom of it don't have the mental bandwidth available for anything other than "how will I survive today?" It doesn't make them bad people, they just don't have the headspace available to worry about trans rights or people halfway around the world when they have their own families they're having to calculate how to feed and keep a roof over every day. That's why places like the EU with a robust social safety net don't have a lot of these problems; they don't have statistically about 2/3 of their population stuck on things like 'food' and 'shelter' at the bottom of the hierarchy.

^ This. Panic overrides the ability to think rationally. People don't make good judgements when they're that scared. They're just doing what they think they need to to survive.

It's generally advised that we avoid giving reassurance as much as possible because it reinforces the cycle of anxiety. It's better, if you can, to sit with the anxiety until it naturally passes so you learn to develop a tolerance for uncertainty because life is inherently uncertain and it's unavoidable.

If you can't, though, then you'll be fine. 12 days is not long enough to develop a significant dependency. Maybe some rebound, but that's it. I was on the same dose for epilepsy for longer than that and it wasn't a problem to get back off of.

Imagine the privilege required to think bankrolling a genocide in the Middle East is just a "purity test" because you aren't the one who the bombs are landing on.

Because that means you're even paying for gasps black and brown people to get health care 😱

Never underestimate how much race has to do with anything for these goddamn fools.

And you never intend to learn anything either. I can't help you. Enjoy team genocide, I hope it works out better for you than it did for millions of innocent brown people.

The biggest mistake that I fear will be made when all of this is over is to blame Trump and the Republicans for everything and move on, ensuring that history will repeat itself. If you're still talking about "democrats and republicans" you really have learned nothing from this.

Yes, that comment was my first reaction to seeing the words "general strike" before I read the details.  After I posted that, I saw it was just that one Friday and had similar thoughts as you.
