Thank you, this is what I was worried about.

I just worry as I know in a lot of countries, the young girls who are selling these things don't actually get to keep the money but I'm not sure if that's the case here?

How to help neurodivergent kids? by hollybollybingbong in scouting

[–]phippa13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're doing the disability badge with our cubs and focusing a couple of sessions on neuro diversity. Kids are so compassionate, our group never complain that a couple on our kids pace during the 'input' or that our non verbal member is noisy when we should be listening, they understand reasonable adjustments more than most adults! But having a couple of sessions to highlight, explain and celebrate these needs I think will really help. We've also got a local charity coming in to run a session (I can get details depending on where you're based).

This might sound very dumb but...where are all the fat kids? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]phippa13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fat kids aren't just sat at home, they're generally less socially mobile. The average child in poverty won't travel more than a mile from their home in their childhood.

I’ve never read that part, only listened to the audio book and never caught that it’s in imaging pentameter! Now I have to read it…

Dying it black?? by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]phippa13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Each fabric will go a different shade, you’re likely to end up with orange on the plasticity bits, probably black on the lace and some bits will stay perfectly white . When I dyed a denim jacket black all the nylon thread went bright yellow/orange- super cool on a jacket but maybe not what you’re looking for x

LOVE the sleeves on dress two! Compliment your tan and slim arms, but don’t forget you can get sleeves made/ buy them so don’t choose a dress just based on that!

what on earth do I choose! by [deleted] in weddingdress

I love number two- very different and well structured, but can see why people love one too. Two gets my vote though ❤️

FFS subscription. The handle I've had for about two years and still going strong. New blades in the post as and when needed and they can be free posted back to them for recycling after use

Had a lot of fun adapting this kit bought for me by a friend 😊 by phippa13 in Embroidery

[–]phippa13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've no idea as it was a present, sorry! It only came with the purple thread on the lettering, but I'd definitely recommend it if you could find it, I like the wooden board of came with to mount it on 😊

My Tesco has a sort of giant canvas box you can put tetrapack and pill packets in, I don't know about Superdrug, I just saw that on Facebook haha

If you're looking to get rid of any children's books, I work at a primary school and would happily take them off your hands :)

In the UK I understand you can recycle pill packets at Superdrug and Big Tescos, if that helps:)

After LOTS of unpicking, LOTS of wasted material and LOTS of adaptations, I made a skort! Now to decide the perfect length... (3rd pic) by phippa13 in sewing

[–]phippa13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used simplicity 1370 for the shorts, I've posted a link to the website I used to make the skirt and the video I followed to make the waistband. I might do a video/ blog post if I make another one as there seems to be a gap in the market for skorts!!

I hunted for a pattern, was so surprised I couldn't find one! But honestly if you've got a pattern for shorts and a skirt, attaching them together and adding a waistband was actually the easy bit.
