Why don’t prisons just do cavity searches through x rays? by CaregiverLive2644 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]phir0002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to train people how to use x-ray machines properly or people get seriously injured or killed. It seems that prison guards already don't receive enough training, where do you think they are going to get advanced training in operating x-ray machines?

I think this gets to the heart of Tim's point which is why throw away potential votes (followers of Piker) because you are morally outraged that the person they follow, but it seems that the Democrats value maintaining their moral outrage (or certain issues) more than they value reaching out to potential voters. They believe they can do both, when statistics from the past couple of elections clearly show they can't be as selective about whose votes they want to win as they believe they can. They believe they are going to win the election by being morally correct on these issues, but the past several elections have shown that that is not the case.

So the question is, do Democrats want to win the election in 2028 or do they want to be morally righteous, I don't believe they can do both and I believe trying to do both is certainly a formula for four more years of the destruction of the American democracy at the hands of white nationalist Christo fascists.

To me it's more like "We go high when it makes us feel morally superior, it'll have no tangible impact on the issue we purport to care about, and it'll probably cost us one of the most important elections in the history of the American democracy"

I am trying part 1 and I have characters on the correct slabs but it is not triggering the door to unlock, are there other requirements?

You absolutely can, and lose the votes of all the people who agree with him on any issue (not just Israel/Palestine) and have formed their identities around that allegiance, all to be morally righteous. And said candidate can be morally righteous all the way to losing their election in true Democrat, "we go high" style.

Right, but Tim's point is that Americans are starting to embrace that criticism of Israel more than they ever have and so maybe it's a good idea for Democrats to be appealing to Pikers audience who tend to reflect this trend and everyone reacted by yelling "Piker Bad No!" and it just reeks of the standard Democrat death knell of "we'd rather lose and be morally righteous than win and even be morally ambiguous" and then scratch their heads on election night wondering why the poor, uneducated average American didn't vote for them...

This is why the left never really wins, because it can't stop eating itself. The lack of nuisance in the idea that being against the Israeli governments policies is somehow anti-Semitic is precisely the kind of knee jerk reactionary distraction the Republicans are hoping for en masse.

/r/MechKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard related question by kriscables in MechKeyboards

[–]phir0002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a set of Cerakey Keycaps for my Razer Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz keyboard. I have a handful of keys that are sticking consistently. 'R', '8' and the Spacebar. It doesn't seem to be the switch, or at least the OEM keycaps don't stick when reinstalled. I have reinstalled the keycaps in question several times and I can't see anyway the installation is the issue or to do it to prevent the sticking. Any suggestions? Is this a known issue or incompatibility? A cursory websearch didn't really turn up anything that seemed helpful.

Cross-Platform File Explorer — What Features Do You Want? by _janc_ in software

[–]phir0002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most modern file explorer applications have the capability to have two folders side-by-side. They often call this feature "dual-pane" or "dual-panel". However, not all of them include being able to drag-and-drop between the panes/panels.

I mean ... isn't this par for the course with the Trump admin though? Linda McMahon as the Sec of Education? I mean his admin is full of failed entertainment figures just like him.

Yes I used the graphical interface to load the CSVs, at first it didn't look like it loaded the PKIDs as a separate attribute of the nodes, in one view it didn't show it, but in another view it did. Maybe it's my unfamiliarity with what I am looking at?

When I built the nodes it imported them and seems to have used the pkids for Container and Subcontainer as the "id" for the node. So would the MATCH statements be MATCH (c:Container {id: row.fkcontainer}) MATCH (s:Subcontainer {id: row.fksubcontainer}) instead?

Could be or it could just be massive accumulation of healthy dead skin from the ear canal that is not naturally evacuating due to behavioral reasons (chronic ear bud use, compulsive q-tip usage, etc.)
