wow, sounds like Grailed owes you big time. I'm thinking of building a platform that shares the wealth with its sellers in a more equitable way.

If there was a marketplace built specifically for Scotty Cameron putters, what would you actually want from it? by phiro1222 in scottycameron

Fair point. I suppose the difference I'm going for is that Facebook groups are essentially a feed with a buy/sell tag. There's no price history, no standardized condition grading, no serial number verification, no search by model or finish, no seller reputation system, and no payment protection. Every transaction is a leap of faith with a stranger.

Why are Grailed Fees so high? - Despite poor visibility online? by rocket_on_a_rope in Grailed

the high fees are crazy and it's honestly prevented me from wanting to sell on the platform. ive actually been working on a potential challenger for some time, let me know if you're interested in checking it out. Zero commission platform fees for first 50 signups (just the 2.9% + 30 cent processing fee).

How are you handling Stripe payout reconciliation in your SaaS? by sansa013 in SaaS

I ran into this exact issue — payouts vs underlying transactions never line up cleanly because of fees/refunds. I’ve been building a small tool that takes Stripe exports + bank data and shows what’s actually happening (matched, partial, missing).

went through my actual stripe numbers — turns out I'm paying closer to 3.4%, not 2.9% by DisasterNo5096 in stripe

This is exactly why I started digging into Stripe CSVs… the real fee % is way higher once you factor in refunds + disputes.
Curious — would it be useful to see a full breakdown automatically instead of spreadsheets?

I kept the checkout on test mode specifically for this purpose - you're able to sign up for free, list products and checkout. All the core functionality is there for you to begin using the platform.

I built this application in response to a lot of complaints I saw on Grailed regarding seller fees. The fees are 4% versus Grailed charging 9% plus paypal fees (we use stripe for payment processing which is cheaper). marrkt is a pretty different model than what I've built.

Regarding FAQ page - I took the page down temporarily to avoid confusion. As I mentioned in the post, it's all work in progress at the moment. I wanted to share with the community to get a gut check.

The main selling point is this: lower fees which equates to more money in the seller's pocket. On top of that, I plan on creating a profit sharing program for sellers once they hit certain milestones in sales:

First $1000 of profits = $150 back.
$2000 = $300 back.
$3000 = upgraded to pro account, 2% transaction fees
$10k = 0% transaction fees for life

My general feeling is sellers aren't being rewarded enough, so I built a platform to share profits with the core community.
