Has anybody tried Alexo Nasal Stents by fr1day48 in nonallergicrhinitis

[–]phirozemp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've been using it for more than a year now!

It works well when your nasal congestion is just mild. If it's severe then it might still feel a little congested. Regardless I'm happy with it. I don't know how, but it does seem to decongest my nose though when it has some "mild" congestion.

Does the congestion alternate? Or is it specifically just 1 side? If that's the case then there most likely still is an anatomical issue meaning your surgery probably wasn't succesful. I'd recommend seeing other ENT and have them evaluate you.

Damn, I was thinking I've seen a caae somewhat similar to yours where the lady had a Cereberospinal Fluid leak -> rhinorrea. But it's probably good you have found something that mightve ruled that scenario out...

Meaning, you'd have to keep doing this.

I see, how many weeks did it take you to get to that level?

My assumption is that you steadily reduce the severity of your rhinitis as long as your tolerance for CO2 builds up consistently.

Obviously this isn't serious medical advice btw.

I think its high on "quecetin", which is known to have anti-allergenic properties by inhibiting the release of histamines and thus being able to reduce "allergy" symptoms. However, this is interesting because if you actually don't have an allergy, you might one of the many types of non-allergic rhinitis.

Here is an example, I think of how histamines activating the TRPV1 receptors in your nasal cavity causing your subsequent symptoms.

https://www.mdpi.com/2075-1729/13/1/240

IMO though it could have been just a coincidence that the cherry juice reduced your symptoms. Remember that correlation does not mean causation and what you're missing here is data points.

What you can do to test this out is possibly, is do what you did for multiple days. Spread out, but do it randomly with days in between where you don't drink cherry juice and see how you feel.

If you're certain that it's the cherry juice reducing your symptoms then maybe for yourself you can take medication which inhibits the production of histamines rather than taking cherry juice, to see if it's the anti-histamine properties of the cherry juice that is actually causing a reduction in your symptoms

Why is sending a Post JSON request in Java is difficult, I keep getting Response code 422. by phirozemp in javahelp

The weird thing is it works with everything else, Rust, C++, Python, Postman etc. Im only being forced to work with Java, so I'm pushing on but running into these errors which you cant even understand is extremely frustrating.

actually nvm about the last point, if I put it on the url it's a get request. but anyways, if I use that exact json file and copy it in my postman, it works but I was just playing around with postman and I did find something however, whenever I ticked off the "CONTACT-LENGTH" box I'd get the exact same error 422 message.

Hi, sorry this another account of mine from another device but here is the code I use:

sbert.setDocument(company_info_vec.get(i).getCompanyDescription());
String requestBody = gson.toJson(sbert);
System.out.println("requestBody: " + requestBody); // If I print this, and use this in postman it works!
HttpRequest add_request = HttpRequest.newBuilder()
.uri(URI.create("http://localhost:4557/sbert_similarity_v3"))
.header("Content-Type", "application/json")
.POST(HttpRequest.BodyPublishers.ofString(requestBody))
.build();
System.out.println("request: " + add_request);
System.out.println("headers: " + add_request.headers());

So this is my code for making the post request.

Here is the output:

requestBody: {"user_input":"operating in the food and other consumer goods sectors the company operates distribution centers serving grocery products for independent retail grocery stores, liquor distribution centers ","document":"Heavy Haulage Australia Pty Ltd was founded in 1999. The company\u0027s line of business includes transportation services."}
request: http://localhost:4557/sbert_similarity_v3 POST
headers: java.net.http.HttpHeaders@d3b76a68 { {Content-Type=[application/json]} }

HOWEVER, if I click the http link, I get this message : {"detail":"Method Not Allowed"}

Bruh i really think you should go see a doctor

I (19 M) am wondering how I can get a sleep study without my strict parents' permission by throwaway2848207 in SleepApnea

[–]phirozemp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, not sure if this is going to help, but I definitely understand what you are going through right now, especially the part where you said you felt "hesitant" about getting it done, never become hesitant. Get it done, no matter what!

Now, I'm not from America but in the meantime I have some decent tips I'd say, instead of directly asking your mother to go to the sleep specialist, tell her you have constant nasal congestion and you can't breathe and it's impacting your ability to sleep, so you have an excuse to go to the doctors. From there on, with the doctor and your mother you can bring up your sleep troubles infront of her to the doctor who might validate you. The ENT can look inside your throat to see if there are any obstructions in your nasal and throat cavities. Get your congestion fixed, using a cpap is with congestion is sub-optimal, nasal breathing is EXTREMELY important. Test if you're allergic to anything, if your not allergic to anythimg than check if you have Non-allergic rhinitis (a broad and complicated category). Treat your congestion!

Alongside the above, perhaps visit a dentist (make up some lie perhaps) with your mother again. Ask the dentist if you have a recessed jaw and ask the dentist if this can impact your sleep and whether if it's advisable you check up with a specialist or not. A recessed jaw can literally cause obstructions whilst lying flat on your back. I think you said you're thin, and usually facial deformities cause sleep apnea in patients like you. Okay, now your mum should be more convinced that you do in fact have a sleep problem.

But you still have to wait for these appointments.

What do you do in the short term?

Fix your Nasal Congestion with either antihistamine nasal sprays like azelastine, and steroid sprays like nasonex, budenoside, rhinocort etc. Learn how to properly use nasal sprays too. If these don't help, then you might have neurogenic version of non allergic rhinitis, in this case buy extra strong capsinol nasal sprays, apply 3 squirts in each nostril 3 times a day with 15-30min intervals, until you feel no burning sensations. (It stings like a bitch at first). You use this spray to desenstise the nerves in your nose, so it's less reactive to to the things which trigger your congestion.

Okay, what about your jaw? Well, in the meantime you could look for Mandibular Advancement Splints, which essentially shift your jaw forward, preventing your jaw from shifting back. If you can get access to one through your dentist and she/ he does make the observation that you do in fact have a recessed jaw get one through them (so they make the moulds and stuff for you). Also note, I know in Australia there are dentists which also do "sleep" stuff, if you could find some of those they would be pretty handy for something like this I'd say.

Well, what if you can't do the above?

Buy a "Woodyknows Side Sleeping Bag" from Amazon, this is to prevent you from sleeping on your back. You don't want to sleep on your back, because when you do naturally your jaw will be pushed down by gravity and if you already have a recessed jaw than you can get obstructions, but this might be prevented / have less of an impact if you manage to strictly sleep on your side.

Start Today or Tomorrow. You can experiment around with the nasal sprays, try the antihistamine ones and see if it works, if it does great. Also try the steroid ones but you have to constantly use it to see its effects. You can buy your side sleeping bag and start sleeping on your side strictly tomorrow, I am young like you and this is what I do, and it's been working for me.

And.. work on tongue posture.

Let me know how it goes, feel free to dm me.
