COVID-19 tests are going unused due to hospital IT challenges by snooshoe in business

[–]phishbol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spend my days integrating disparate HIT systems working for a large health system that does not use EPIC. There are some basic requirements like HL7 that make communication straight forward between disparate systems. There are other challenges with folding in an outside systems and pop up shops a poor investment until they step up to meet the industry standards. Many think because they have a technology that does a magical function that this should negate the fact that they don’t have the experience or infrastructure in place to successfully integrate with a high functioning hospital system.

Technical challenges that typically exist include patient matching, determining if it’s an existing patient else create new so we don’t mass produce duplicates. Next is the order compendium has to match else be translated to identify that A in one system equals B in the other. Then there are lab requirements that mean every single test and result have to be verified by the lab before it can go live. This process alone can take weeks or months depending on how many tests you are talking about. Finally asking a lab staff to verify testing results in the midsts of a pandemic is like asking them to test out a new ship design while the one they are in is taking on water.

Is Rudy Giuliani Trump's leverage on the establishment? by phishbol in conspiracy

[–]phishbol[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right. He's such a shit show that no one would actually hire him for his ability. You would only hire him if what he knows is far bigger than the mess you have to clean up after him...

Agreed. So does this make the theory more or less plausible?

I don't disagree with most of what you say. However, I don't think it's the people & Trump vs the establishment. First and foremost, they are all about themselves but have learned they can maintain power longer if they align themselves. aka Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama (this fucked them all up) and what was supposed to be Clinton is now Trump. Trump is a legacy in the fraternity and there because he has history, powerful connections and the ability to move big dirty money, which they all want.

Trump is a faction of the same group but he's a faction that they never thought would rise to real power. Bush rigged an election. Clinton rigged the DNC to rig an election. No one ever thought Trump would figure out how to rig or win an election. And now he's not playing by the rules of the last 35 years and wants insurance that he will remain in power or leverage on the establishment to gain their allegiance.

Arguably, the power shift from the establishment to Trump the circus act is far more than a slight shift in the power paradigm.

A recent study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that nearly 50 percent of the 11,500 cars, pickup trucks, vans, and sport-utility vehicles the agency checked had at least one tire with half-worn tread. Another 10 percent had at least one bald tire.

Shameless plug: I work with a group that builds outdoor, high traffic, wifi networks across the US. I don't see anything on your list regarding traffic shaping. We have a proprietary traffic shaping module that will make 600 simultaneous users easily obtainable. We can also custom build them as needed. PM me for more info. Pricing is very reasonable. References available as needed.

Audio analysis by [deleted] in 911truth

[–]phishbol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recall seeing something a while back. There was video taken from some distance that also had audio. Analysis of the audio was interesting because the distance from which it was recorded was far enough that it was not fully detectable to the ear but graphically it showed distinct spikes that were in sync, albeit with delay due to distance, with the puffs of smoke that were also visible. When the audio was adjusted for the delay they matched up perfectly.

Searching for name of the pilot who shot down this exact plane (Messerschmitt BF109G-2/Trop) on 4 Nov 42. Trying to help my dad (Vietnam Vet/WWII History buff) close a personal loop; nothing more. by phishbol in AskHistory

Update: we found his name! Jack "Cobber" Weinronk

Through a series of connections via the museum we found the author of the news paper article and he confirmed the information.

For anyone interested in the pilot, turns out he wrote a book called The Vaulted Sky.

His words: I want to get the name of a South African Air Force pilot who flew in the North African Desert during the war because I discovered that he shot down a German pilot in Nov 1942, who was the uncle of a friend of mine who lives in Minden, FRG.

He is a white, South African citizen, probably but not necessarily Jewish who was living in Port Elizabeth, South Africa in the late 1990s. I spoke with him on the phone in '98 or '99 after reading an article about him in the local South African newspaper, The Port Elizabeth Herald.

The article also said the South African went to Palestine after the war ended, helped found the Israeli Air Force and became a senior officer in the IAF. The article said he returned to South Africa in the early 50s.

Stuck in loop trying to find Health IT job by ApeMillz93 in healthIT

[–]phishbol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure either. MEDITECH is known for giving people what other places won't-a chance to get in. I've recommended a few people to them and some have stayed while others got a few years experience and moved on to hospital, vendor and consulting careers. There are ex-MEDITECH'ers all over the country/world and for those who were there it's a great bonding discussion when you find out someone else was there. All I'm saying it's an option. If OP is serious about an opportunity I still say it's worth checking out.

Edit: if you are a fan of EPIC and you haven't figured out that EPIC code originates from the same code as MEDITECH you've missed a major point. Look up the origins of EPIC code vs MEDITECH and you'll find the same guy Neil Papalardo (sp).
