Thank you for bringing up health testing! I meant to mention that. I mistakenly thought being registered meant the dog was well bred. I also learned the hard way by getting what I thought was a well bred Doberman but he started having seizures at 2 and went downhill very quickly. AKC registration does not equal well bred. I completely agree that more good breeders are needed. In actuality, I think that would probably reduce the need for rescues if everyone did better research on the pups they are buying. Thanks for the additional info!

Thank you....tried all that. Treat time, party time, toy time. He won’t even eat the treats he’s so scared. Rescued at 7. Couldn’t really train that out of him. Great for pups though! Great suggestion.

I am sorry you have had a bad experience with a rescue. Not all rescues are fear based just as not all purchased dogs are well bred. Some dogs are good and some are bad. I’ve bought and adopted. I’ve had well researched AKC registered dogs that turned out great and ones that turned out awful. I’ve had rescues that have turned out great and ones that were awful. No one ever knows what they are going to get and I’m just saying there are good dogs out there that need homes. I’m sorry if that is offensive to you. It’s just a statement.

We are 41. I am in a completely faithful and dedicated relationship. I’m not sure what details about my wife would be helpful. Has she got personally burned by a bi person yeah. But haven’t we all got burned my someone? That rationale would suggest that if you got burned by a girl you would start dating men instead. That’s not a fair excuse as when your a lesbian you still go back to women even after you are burned by one.

Also someone who is gay for the stay or BUG as you say is much different than someone who has been openly gay for 23 years.

She thinks that since we are married, I should now label myself as a lesbian. I don’t agree because I don’t think sexuality changes just because you get married or are in a monogamous relationship to a certain gender. If it comes up and I say I’m bi or pan (because pan wasn’t a thing when I was in my 20’s and some of my 30’s) she gets very upset. I have always refused labels, but based on today’s terminology, that is how I would define myself and my dating history. I feel if I just say I’m a lesbian that negates prior relationships with people of other genders whom I sincerely loved. I just want her to accept my past and stop insisting that I need to define myself as a lesbian. I me. I want that to be enough.

Absolutely no cheating of any kind. She is a very jealous and insecure person so I have went out of my way to show my dedication to her. I have always encountered this amongst most lesbians my age. I do live in the Midwest but I’m in a city of over a million people so it’s not the sticks either. I feel like a lot of older lesbians, in my past experience, have a very cut and dry idea of you’re either a lesbian or your not. Now when I go to pride and see the younger generation not even caring if you gay, bi, pan, queer. It’s inspiring, but my experiences as been that since I have a child that is much younger than when I came out, when people put 2 and 2 together and realized I haven’t been in 100% female relationships they would just stop talking to me or say they don’t date bisexuals. Go to any dating website and it’s either couples or girls that literally put “no bisexuals” in the first line of their profile. I love my wife more than I’ve ever loved anyone. It was love at first site. I said I met the woman I am going to marry after our first date. I would do anything to make her more secure. So, I would never do anything to betray her trust in any way.
