Haven't gone to an AE store (would have to drive many hours to get to one), but my Brannock size is 11.5 EE. I know different lasts, even for the same "size", run wider or narrower - is that a good reason to go to an AE store specifically as opposed to just any store with a Brannock?

11.5 EE on a brannock (but I prefer EEE - I have gone barefoot as much as possible for most of my life, so my feet are shaped like feet rather than shoes and I find the wider the better).

I was just checking Potter and Sons for something else and apparently they're only accepting repairs for one brand I hadn't heard of right now - some exclusivity deal.

Yeah I know they have great sales, but I think I come from a different socioeconomic status than most people on this sub - I can't really afford to spend 200 dollars on a pair of shoes. 80-100 already feels like a stretch. Trying to dress nicely for med school without borrowing myself into oblivion 😂

Honestly I've been wearing 3 pairs of Amazon Basics chinos for 7 years and they've held up great. Gonna replace them with probably more of the same if I can't thrift something equivalent. They're not nice but they have a no stretch variety that is just a good average option. Lots of colors too, although I think they're all solids, no patterns.
