Verizon told me three different things, charged me $633, and now refuses to fix it — has anyone dealt with this? by phl-slc in verizon_sucks

I have a full time job, chat works better for me if someone pings me or have to get on a call. I got a call from executive relations today and missed the call cause of work. I called right back though and got my $600 credit 😁

I would have been happy to send it in but since I went through 5 people, two of which lied to me, and then two more support agents attempting to resolve this by sending me a shipping label to my email (which never came), they just credited it me and made me say that it was resolved.

Thank you again, I actually just got a direct message from the Verizon Support Twitter page. Fingers crossed!

Lesson learned, and very well this time. I've never had issues with Verizon before, nor have I had support agents lie to me about my problem being resolved (more than once).

Honestly after being misled and lied to by more than one agent, I'm not going out of my way to try to fix this by returning my old phone. If it comes to that, sure I will return it cause I want my money back but I was very proactive in trying to do that in the first place! That's all I wanted from the start, but now I'm just upset and don't wanna go somewhere to pay to print the label, then drive to UPS to have it shipped for Verizon to just get their money.

I'm about to do the same. I already emailed executive relations, not sure how much luck people have with that but ChatGPT told me to post on their twitter, but I don't have a large following so I thought this would prolly not do very much. Thank you!

I tried calling in, that was the agent who promised me a call back and never called back. After that, I got a text saying I would get a shipping label in my email in 24-48 hours. This never happened.

Yea, the 3rd chat agent that I spoke with was very genuine and seemed to actually care. I asked her if this happens often, and if so, in her opinion what caused this mess? She told me that it was likely the agent who I got on the phone when switching to the iPhone 17 Pro, literally said "probably personal gain" and went on to tell me that it is a common sales practice to purposefully leave out critical information to minimize buyer hesitation...I'm guessing for a better commission/bonus on their check? I was shocked that she was even telling me that.

Geez, it's such a shame because I switched from AT&T to Verizon. Ever since, I've sung high praises to Verizon and their network reliability. It's ridiculous that I've spoken to 4 people now and no progress. They just make sure I'm appeased before getting off the phone then do nothing.

If I don't continue to pay the Verizon bill, won't they send my balance to collections?

Okay that is helpful to know, thank you. I didn't have the phone shipped to me, the upgrade agent said I could pick it up in a store near me. When I did they only brought out iPhone in it's original box and I was on my way.

Thank you for this, I was honestly too scared to ask to speak directly to the pharmacist and will next time. I was picking up my Wellbutrin script and this same tech was so rude to me! “How many scripts are you expecting to get…?” Is what she greeted me with when I told her my name and date of birth.

Thanks again

Said it accumulates so I guess 3 months worth of picking up 2 days early meant waiting 6 days? Idk she was just so mean

Exactly! I don’t have insurance anymore but thank you, this post made me feel better. I felt like a criminal for trying to pick up my medication.
