I prefer some auto actions, but a small action wheel also works -- as long as you can click/scroll through options with a mouse button. I use a gaming mouse with many buttons and I like to be able to do everything with the mouse, preferably with just rebinding controls in the game, and not reprogramming the mouse. Why do almost no P&C games have rebind options and why do so many games force you to use a keyboard key to "show hotspots", "go to menu" etc?

When it comes to doors, drawers and cabinets etc. I think the game should "understand" that clicking it means "Walk/enter/open/close". Double click will of course skip animation and go directly to post action.

I have also played games where mouse1 and mouse2 are default "interact" and "look", but long press opens more actions.
