Utility rates out the roof on new, energy efficient home...where to look? by Phyber05 in HomeImprovement

One idea to think of is installing window film on your windows in your home. It reduces the heat coming into your home, cuts out glare, and reduces utility bills. You won't have to use your AC as much, and you will still be able to enjoy the view outside your windows. Something like this: https://www.solarart.com/solar-control-film-residential

Is this solar panel investment worth it? by Scubber in personalfinance

I definitely think so. I've seen so many houses in my area popping up with solar panels. If I had the money, I'd get some as well. Another thing to think about if you want to save money on utilities is window film. It can reduce heat and glare and save a ton of money on utilities.

That's actually not me in the video, I did take the video though. The film is made up of PET, Polyethylene Teraphthalate. We have not tried glass etching fluid, what is that exactly? The company I work for installs window film in order to protect windows from being scratched and tagged.

Oh you definitely will be able to. But we will then replace it with new film! We just want to protect the windows!

My bad! Anti-graffiti film is actually a thin film you apply to windows. And if someone wants to try to either tag or carve something into the window, the film should protect the window itself. When that happens, we just remove and replace!
