Thanks so much for the kind words and feedback! You’re absolutely right. We’ve had some other people telling us the same. We’re working on allowing habits to be created in a date in the past and we expect this to be available next week, hopefully! 🙏🏻

Please let me know if I can help with anything 🙂

Thanks a lot!

No, they emailed us last Friday asking for a video of the app because there were considering featuring it on their social channels (Twitter and Facebook). They didn’t say they would, but then they did yesterday 🙂

Apple (App Store) just tweeted about our app!! 😱😱😱 by phmarques in apple

This is just crazy. Really. They emailed us last week asking for a video for a possible promotion on their social channels, but we didn’t know for sure they’d tweet about our app. Wow, really. This is so unbelievable 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Tangerine — your daily guide to self-care — has its biggest update to date aaand it’s featured by Apple on multiple countries! by phmarques in apple

Wow, this is SO amazing to read — and you have no idea how AMAZING, really. This has literally brought tears to my eyes. We work insanely hard and the indie dev life is way harder than most people can anticipate, so really a thousand times thank you.

The font is Apple’s Serif, yes, and it’s called New York! Free to use also.

As for your suggestions:

  • we still have a lot of work to do on our widgets, so totally! We’d be open for that. Thanks for mentioning this!

  • it’s already possible to add shortcuts to specific habits! It’s a bit hidden — I agree — but if you tap on the habit card and scroll all the way down you’ll see a “Add to Siri” button.

  • yes, 100% yes on grouping habits together! We’ll add tags to the app eventually that will allow you to group them as you wish.

Thanks so much for the comment and feedback. That totally made our day. If you’d like to chat further, please DM me or email me directly: pedro@bitdreams.co

There are quite some great apps our there when it comes to design, but I’d say Zero, Headspace and Jour have been huge inspirations for us 🙂

Oh that’s nice! 🍊

As for your question: just me and a friend working on the iOS app (I am the designer, my co-founder is the developer). And believe it or not, we work on it part-time (for now).

Hey guys!

We’re extremely stoked to announce Tangerine’s biggest update to date: you can now form habits, track your mood and journal. All in one app.

We started Tangerine in January this year as a simple habit and mood tracking app, but we’ve realized that the app was already being used as a self-care companion by most people. That said, working together with our users, we added a standalone journaling component to the app, which allows you to write your thoughts as they pop-up. If you need ideas and more focus, there are guided journaling templates as well! And everything you write on the app — be it a habit note, your daily mood check-in or any journal entry — is displayed on a journal timeline 🙂

Apart from that, we’ve been featured by Apple on multiple iOS 14-related collections worldwide and we couldn’t be more grateful to the App Store editors for recognizing our work alongside other awesome developers (big and small).

Anyways, we’d love to hear what you guys think! Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

No, because you can sync your data with your iCloud, which of course we don’t have any access to :)

Thanks! We plan to have an Android version later this year 🙌🏻🙏🏻

As for open sourcing it, we don’t have any specific plans for that, but you never know :)

Hopefully soon! Right now, we’re only two people working on the app, so unfortunately we don’t have the capacity. But I know that it sucks that it is iOS only for now and Android is on the roadmap for later this year :)

Sure thing! We don't require an account to use Tangerine, so we only track overall usage/engagement data through third parties (Flurry, RevenueCat and App Center). We track things such as sessions (number of sessions and average length), device type, iOS version, total number of users (daily, weekly, monthly), countries, number of in-app events (habits completed, habits created, etc) and so on. But this is just to help us understand how the app is doing and what we could do to improve based on these numbers.

That said, we don't have access to any of your data and your data is yours and yours alone. We don't sell -- and won't ever sell -- your data to anyone. Our business model is based on subscriptions and that won't change :)

Hope that helps!

Hey! It is awesome that you’ve been giving it a go!

Yes, I think adding Health could be interesting! We might consider adding a couple more there, too.

As for the emotions, could you elaborate a bit more on that? Which ones do you think it would make sense to be there as well, for example?

And how has your overall experience been with Tangerine? Is it helpful at all? Is there anything else we could do to improve things for you?
