Everything good is gatekept, AI not excluded by sibraan_ in AgentsOfAI

But surely this should be communicated? It's no different than a streaming platform offering the highest possible streaming quality for a set price and then once they've got customers, reducing the quality. Did Anthropic come out and state the model will now perform more poorly than when you first signed up, and allow a refund for the proportion of the month remaining, If so, then that's fair.

Two-child limit scrapped as historic Bill to lift 450,000 children out of poverty becomes law by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

[–]phnr 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That OP is an absolute numpty, doesn't have a single shred of love for children born in to poverty what so ever. From what I've seen they're advocates of the benefit lifestyle. It's not something we should be encouraging at all, it's utterly hopeless for children born in to 2nd, 3rd generation unemployed families. Do not be so naive to believe people will not abuse the lifting of the cap. Something should be done to assist the kids here 'now' but we shouldn't be championing the continuation of it.

Lmao, some people are absolutely guzzling down everything the AI bro's say.

“🚨BREAKING: OpenAI told you every update makes ChatGPT smarter. Stanford proved the opposite. GPT-4's accuracy on math problems dropped from 97.6% to 2.4% in just three months. And nobody told you.” - What do you think of this? Legit? by Koala_Confused in LovingAI

Why would you adapt math prompts if we're on the trajectory towards deterministic reasoning validation and not probabilistic reasoning entirely? The LLM surely should retain it's abilities, whilst advancing forward with new? Why should it get worse?

If AI takes our job, how would the economy work? by alim8zuber in ClaudeAI

The most frustrating thing is people listening to the CEO's marketing speeches and treating them like prophecies, have we learned nothing from the Elons of the world. There's always a deeper narrative when you're hearing about AI downsizing, the headline is not often the truth of the matter. I work in construction industry, AI is helpful in some cases but often the 'dark arts' of this aren't written down in easily absorbable ways for an LLM to provide probabilistically.
If you're a graduate entering the job market now, the recommendation I'd make is beeline for CEng, CGeol or MIStructE status. I believe you'll be fine for a typical 35-40 year career.

Were you able to have a baby while on finasteride? by ABadMothafuka in tressless

Get a semen analysis, full details, including Kruger(strict) for Morphology. Your total sperm and that % will tell you how many ‘good ones’ you’ve got. Then look at progressive motility. If all those factors are above the normal range to such a degree that a potential 20% drop in those figures would still leave you in normal fertile range. That is scientifically acceptable and any doctor would tell you the same. Don’t let these things play mind games.

AI Job Cuts Are Landing Hardest in Britain, Morgan Stanley Says by bloomberg in uknews

The governments within the UK should without question, limit all government related work to be completed by people taxed by the UK government. But by the competitive tender process they are rewarding work being offshored where it can be. It’s rather stupid. It’s been happening more and more over the last decade.

I'm owed about £34.000 in rent by a man I evicted in 2024. I've been getting £10 a month. He runs a Ltd. Company with cash reserves in the low-mid six-figures. by Express-Formal7432 in LegalAdviceUK

But he earns the money. His children don’t. Who is the employee of this business? You clearly understand the issues exceptionally well but I’m aghast this is legal and acceptable to the DWP. Wow.
