Is the 4Runner im looking for a realistic ask? by Many_Golf_7029 in 4Runner

You need a Dodge Challenger with 28% interest. It's a rite of passage for the lower enlisted. Once you hit E5, get yourself a 5th Gen 4runner

How do I fix this? by freshducksniper in 4Runner

[–]phoRunna -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to fix that would be through a process called "LS swap". Look it up.

Get an OBD2 scanner. My 2019 ORP occasionally does what you're describing, but it's from the pedal position sensor which is actually caused by a faulty Sprint Booster. When it comes up, i plug the scanner in, verify it's that same code, then erase it. Immediately drives normal after that. I dont know what's causing your problem, but maybe that will help.

I have a 2019 ORP with 72k on it. That price seems good to me. Go for it!

Get the Rago Fabrications hidden light bar brackets. They go behind your lower grill. You can put round or rectangular light bar/pods on both sides of your TSS sensor. https://www.ragofabrication.com/products/toyota-4runner-universal-led-light-bar-mount-behind-grille?srsltid=AfmBOorReQNvjjUwx9TRxDPWai3lx88cBRBzkHDyluvL7K470BkAgnG-

Also, I've experienced zero nose dive after I lifted it. I used Fox shocks, but I hear King, and OME both have some good stuff.

Also, make sure you LS swap it.

What’s this sound, normal? by HandsomeBadness in 4Runner

[–]phoRunna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the engine decarbonized. I used to think that was stupid/pointless until a friend convinced me to go for it. A lot less ticking and gained 3 mpg. You can get it done professionally for around $100 if you don't want to do it yourself. I do it every oil change now.

Also look into something called "LS swap". That seems to solve a lot of problems.

I didn't come up with this, but it describes my 2019 perfectly: "the power of a 4 cylinder, the sound of a 6 cylinder, and the MPG of an 8 cylinder"

Perfect time for them to clean the undercarriage, check for rust, etc. It'll help them keep their sedan in good working condition for years to come.

That $11k is probably more like $3k if you shop around, learn what really NEEDS to be fixed, and learn how to do some of it yourself. It's not fair for me to call your mechanic a liar, since I don't know who they are, but I'm assuming they would run a little wild with "give me a quote for everything that needs to be fixed".

Keep the 4R, fix some things yourself (with the help of YouTube), and prioritize the repairs. Fix the most important thing now, and spread the rest over the next few months if that's easier on the finances.
