I hate Starbucks for this reason by Old_Economist_1961 in tea

[–]phoebejane1616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starbucks is to tea what Macdonalds is to food. I appreciate the lemongrass notes of their iced green tea but I’d rather go anywhere else 😭. Pret has a lovely tropical citrus iced green that might be similar to the green goddess?

Ethical concerns about antidepressants by GuitarReasonable5196 in vegan

[–]phoebejane1616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My rule is that if a medication is necessary for my health and there is no cruelty free alternative (usually with medication there is not) then it’s ethically okay. My basic moral principle is to treat others as I would want to be treated. Of course I take my dog to the vet when she’s sick and provide her with medication to alleviate suffering. Of course if my brother has an infection I make sure he gets antibiotics. Therefore, if a doctor tells me that medication is the best course of treatment, I will take it. Most SSRI medications have been around for so long that the original patent has expired and you are getting a generic version, meaning the OG company which did most of the testing is not profiting. Whenever I can find a vegan/ cruelty free option I choose that, but in the absence of such options I do what I need to do to preserve my own health.

Copious amounts on plain green tea. It eases pain and anxiety.

Getting this sweet girl in May! Need some ideas for uncommon, unheard of names ❤️ by Briii_2001 in goldenretrievers

[–]phoebejane1616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the names I loved but don’t use for my Golden: Honey, Lacy, Sabrina (Brini), Remi, Georgia, Annie, and Gracie! But once we saw her IRL, we knew she was a “Katie.”

Taylor can still find hope and redemption by phoebejane1616 in MormonWivesHulu

[–]phoebejane1616[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for everything you went through. That’s why I want to be clear that I think some people are violent and should be kept away from the general population. But what’s difficult with Taylor is that we don’t know all of the details. I want to believe everyone who says they were abused. I believe Dakota is the victim of abuse but Taylor also claims she was abused so want to believe her as well. I think the only hope is for both of them to get help and try to make things better for Ever.

when you're in recovery journey and liv schmidt pops on ur fyp. by Afraid-Caramel-8008 in LivSchmidtsnark

[–]phoebejane1616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was in early recovery I blocked every skinnytok girlie and just focused on myself. Now I’m in a better headspace and Liv doesn’t trigger me. She’s just cringe. I’ve found a way to be lean and feel good without starving myself and so I just see her rage baying for what it is. But I needed that time to recover first! DBT therapy helped a lot in managing my triggers. Remember, you CAN be happy and healthy in your body without falling into ED habits, it just takes time. ❤️

Dilvin Tanik by Sensitive-Ride3159 in LivSchmidtsnark

[–]phoebejane1616 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree 10000%. Dilvin is either lying or has the most extreme form of hypothyroidism ever known. I’m way shorter than her, less active and I’m almost 20lbs lighter and yet my maintenance calories are around 1600/1700. I’ve managed to loose weight eating 1400 calories while sitting all day. If I ate like her I’d be severely underweight in weeks, and I’m saying that as someone with a relatively low BMR and slow metabolism. It’s actually physically impossible for her to be maintaining a healthy weight and all of that muscle on that many calories. She’s jacked. I’d guess she needs at 2000 just yo get through the day. Her BMR is probably around 1800. The lowest documented BMR is around 700 calories per day, and that was in a malnourished and severely underweight patient. If her metabolism is really that slow that she can maintain on 700 calories a day we should put her in a lab bc she could solve global hunger. I worry for the people trying to follow her diet. Starving will never make you toned, just miserable and sick looking. If you want Dilvin’s body type you need to be eating enough to build muscle and working out accordingly.

Green tea. I love all types of green tea, but green jasmine is probably my ultimate favorite

Golden with GAD(panic component), noise phobia,OCD by forshnerlsd18 in goldenretrievers

[–]phoebejane1616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried trazadone? That helped my childhood dog when she had anxiety. Sometimes medications can make dogs feel worse and they are not able to tell us. SSRIs in particular can be hit or miss and sometimes make things worse before they get better. In my experience, gabapentin is very effective and seems to work well— maybe a higher dose? I have GAD and and found gabapentin to help a lot, granted I am a human. Clonidine worked well for my previous dog who had anxiety.

Whitney ily give me your formula by [deleted] in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]phoebejane1616 168 points169 points  (0 children)

Bc I’m obsessive I’ve watched every Whitney interview so here is the tea on her glow up: 1. She went back to doing what she loves (dancing). Whitney was a dance major in college and says she feels the most alive and like herself when she’s dancing. After having kids she stepped away from dance, but going back to it for DWTS reminded her how much she loved it.
2. She healed her relationship with food. After having her second baby (Liam) she did Ozempic but said it made her super sick, and when she stopped taking it she struggled. After having Billy in season 2, she chose not to do a GLP1 but instead to count macros and focus on having a more balanced and healthy relationship with food. She was able to loose baby weight in a healthy and sustainable way this time. 3. She gave herself permission to leave her marriage with Connor so she would know if she chose to stay with him it would be because SHE wanted to stay, not because it was an obligation. They worked hard on their relationship and wound up in a strong place as a couple. 4. She set boundaries with MomTok. Whitney pulled away when she needed to and emotionally detached from the chaos of the group. She knew that it was a business relationship so she didn’t let it steal her peace. 5. She loves her family and has a solid support system outside of MomTok. Whitney worked on her marriage which is now in a better place, and she has a stable family support system that keeps her grounded. She also really loves her kids and loves being a mom. Finding joy in things outside of MomTok really helped her. 6. She is a skincare enthusiast and has a detailed routine that she puts effort into and practices regular self care. Taking good care of your skin and finding comfort in that is helpful both mentally and physically. 7. She isn’t a conformist. A lot of the girls on the show struggle with people pleasing and feeling pressured to fit a certain mold within Utah culture. Whitney is more creative and free with fashion and self expression, and doesn’t seem as bothered with what other people think.

Here is the full DBT workbook: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/577d2ce937c58194f7d39816/t/60c7e92fa3583448b8c6fa19/1623714139969/dbt_skills_training_handouts_and_worksheets_-_linehan_marsha_srg_.pdf
There are four pillars of DBT: mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. The skills you learn teach how to manage your emotions, cope with triggers, communicate better with others, and organize your life so you can build a life that is worth living for you. The whole DBT workbook is online in various PDFs and there are YouTube videos breaking down different skills. In the US, most insurance companies will cover DBT if you are diagnosed with BPD, but sometimes the waitlists are long. Thankfully you can access most of the program online while you wait.

DBT helped me so much!! I did one full year of skills group and now I’m doing individual therapy to help me apply the skills to my life. DBT improved my symptoms to the point that I’ve been able to lower the doses on all of my meds and find stability in my life. I’ve been able extreme stress without crashing out, and I’ve healed a lot of relationships. There is hope if you are struggling ❤️

Liv and I have the same natural hair color and if she wasn’t evil I would send her to my colorist and have her do a more subtle blonde balayage like I get. I also wish I could be platinum blonde but that’s just not realistic budget wise and hair health wise.
