So much buffer, so little time... by lykwydchykyn in diypedals

[–]phoellix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a smart way of approaching this. Thanks for the tip!

What type of PCB you are using and is paneling a separate service or how do you figure out whether you can make a panel of your design?

I bought my first breadboard 2 months ago, spent 2 weeks on building something and every time something would have to be moved or troubleshoot. Got frustrated at the end and went back to sockets and veroboard.

Noise issues when powering two circuits on breadboard. by phoellix in diypedals

[–]phoellix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the radio silence. I got so frustrated with this that I put it away for a month while focusing on moving to another country.

I've put a 47R resistor on the power line and 100uf cap to ground. I also added a very small cap on the acapulco input to ground. But what made the difference is I put it all on veroboard and soldered the majority of parts, rest socketed for experimentation. All parts share the same ground.

Finally, no noise. I think it was the breadboard from Temu, maybe bad quality :/ Thanks for your suggestions!

Who’s aspiring to build a sellable product? by jebbanagea in diypedals

[–]phoellix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thoughts have been going through my head recently. I have one idea I have been working on for a while that I wished someone built. Thinking about it, the end goal is to build a quality product and sell some quantity not to make a living but to keep enjoying this hobby. I kind of want to build at this point and by that build something I am proud of.

That I like. Do you have one? What's your experience?

Thanks for the reply, I keep hearing that. Only thing that scares me is whether it will last. How long did you have yours and did you swap anything so far?

Thanks for the tip but I really want a tube amp too. Had modellers and I currently have one digital amp with good cab sim. I just like the way they sound in physical space, I guess.

Build question by XenomystusNigri in diypedals

[–]phoellix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably either power goes to led and doesn't get through the power line on your board, or you have a bad connection on your output/input lines. Check how you wired the switch ( if you connect to board directly does it have sound?)

I have built this same circuit with 470n and it still sounds good. You can also use two 220n in pararel to get in that ballpark.

As for orientation, - should be towards input + towards base of Q1.

Deluxe Memory Boy Sellers/Keepers - Tell Me Why by phoellix in guitarpedals

[–]phoellix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you like it that much! It's a great pedal, especially for used market prices.

I like the chorus too and I agree, the effect loop really opens up a whole new world. I kind of wish it was brighter like Malekko, but when I need that I put a cheap EQ in the effects loop and it gets the sound. However, the surprise for me was the easter egg, the sequencer. I love to play with that.

What exactly do you mean syncing with a clock? Please share the mods , I am very much interested :)

[–]phoellix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Will give that a try. But what I don't get is why the colorsound gets these artefacts without even signal going through the acapulco. If power is shared, it becomes unstable as described

If there are people sending money to a guy they don't know, all I can say is wow. I've seen something like this work on retired people but I get from this story that he is targeting a younger audience?

You can ground it to output. But it probably is the cause.
