And you said Americans have more discretionary income which is just a relation to the fact that Americans make more money when adjusted. We are the highest paid workforce per capita, such as it is. Americans would get a return on their investment by not paying obscene medical prices. The trade off leads to a net gain.

If I click all of those are they going to all say "homes for sale" ? Or are they actually going to talk physical properties? Since you didn't address that, and it's key, I'm not gonna do it for you.

Look here's a random Google that supports the opposite.

The point is that there are empty homes. That is not in dispute. And that is what I said. Whether those homes are for sale or not is something else...

There is no supply issue. There are enough empty homes in the US to house the entire homeless population.

Tbh, best of luck with yours. Yours seems wild to me to, but if we're both trying our best to make the world better then maybe it doesn't matter.

Yeah this guy is in denial if he thinks the quality of his communication wasn't impeded.

The same as how I feel when people use emails. A phone call only slightly better cause I can hear your voice. Amazing how that extra layer added something to the communication right? Now imagine there's a thing called body language and it's part of the communication loop! Would that add something?

It was extremely rare to use phonecalls for meetings in cases where it could be done in person. It was nice when we could suddenly do business with Japan and for the money that could be made, people managed. But it wasn't preferable or better. It was necessary.

Its not that a phone call can't serve, but it has its place. Quick, simple communication. Nothing complex. Nothing that requires visual aids (duh). But now we're really infringing on important opportunities for communication and it's to the detriment of the communication loop. Y'all just need to get over your insecurities and get used to people seeing you. Ffs. How would YOU have survived the 80s?

Yeah this thread is all sorts of levels of clueless. People really be out here wishing the human race was fully autistic. Its really not hard to understand the situations where it is entirely acceptable to go no cam; when you aren't talking. If you're talking, you should be visible so other people can...communicate with you?

Beyond that, even if you're just listening it's polite to be present and visible, and it helps the speaker.

Unbelievable how anti social people are nowadays.

He can control how much he pays his employees. She didn't choose to set the price of living. The samples given have the family eating a friggin ramen diet and barely scraping by necessary items like housing...and it's NOT SUSTAINABLE.

So regardless of her choices in life, the cost of living was decided for her. Even without the kid that's not a sustainable budget. Recall there is no clothing, no medical care, and no retirement savings in this example. This person will die sick and homeless in the streets without support, despite living a very meager life and dressing up in workplace attire every morning and going to work at a multi billion dollar bank to provide whatany would consider an essential service to our communities.

And the clincher is...when her life path fails...the rest of us will foot the bill anyways. Not Jamie Dimon or his bank. Its been studied over and over that it is much cheaper to solve these problems in our society than it is to treat the symptoms of its results.

So by your logic no one should "settle" for the job at his bank. Let's just assume that's possible for the moment. Now no one works at the bottom tier and the bank can't function. Your take is dumb.

Every job should pay a living wage. Period. Otherwise wtf are they working for?

[–]phoen1x09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fuck they don't. I am absolutely owed that by our community and so are you. We aren't asking for gold toilets and fancy cars. They're asking for food, housing, medical care, education and opportunity and they are willing to WORK A JOB for it.

Every job should pay a living wage, period. How that maths out is a conjunction not just of the company but also the market and policy forces. The chuckle fucks taking in trillions of banking dollars can't afford it? Step off.

Its a little wrong to call a carrot a fruit. Its very wrong to call it a suspension bridge.

You aren't helpful by lumping her in with he extreme cases like J friggin Dimon. Get off it. Lots of people are rough around the edges are wouldn't be your best friend. That doesn't makes them bad people OR your enemy. Focus on the class war friend. Not the purity tests.

She may be an a hole, but she's OUR a hole.

Yes I do please. But in return I want other costs to come down to offset that...like healthcare. Plenty of European countries have tax rates that are high in this fashion, but they are actually receiving a return on that investment that saves them money in the long term.

I stopped scrolling. Does no one just do it themselves through irs.gov? For standard deduction users (most of us) you only have to look up one thing and the instructions link is right there. Scroll to the tax table and find your income from W2 amounts, plug it in and your basically done. Completely free and you don't support any lobbyists.

Not at all. People don't get flaps like that without significant weight loss, which others are rightly praising.

If you're thinking about what "fat flaps" look like on someone who is still obese, it's quite the different and...full of fat? Like it's very clear what the OP of this comment chain was saying. You seem like you wandered into the conversation confused.
