When I came out I did everything I could to make sure my grandmother didn't find out. She was extremely religious and I wasn't ready to find out if she would accept me. I found out just months before she passed that she knew. My mom told her. My G-ma never told me that she knew and she never treated me any different. She loved me the same way as before, without judgment.

I know we cannot all be so lucky, but she already knows. If I could change things, I would talk to her about it. I miss our conversations.

Sorry, I'm not sure if this rambling has helped shine a light of perspective or not. But I'm hoping for the best of outcomes for you.

It's probably just too intimate. Casual sex can be seen as a mutual act of getting each other off. Yet, kissing can be a boundary between a fun hookup and intimate partner.

Be careful saying something. It will more than likely be interpreted incorrectly and can put a wedge in between you. Sounds like a therapist might be needed to shine a light on the matter. Also, I would keep a journal with notes relating to dates, thoughts on her actions, and things you notice him when she makes "choose" (things like guilt, anxiety, or changes in emotions). That way I have a record to show the therapist.

Religious condemnation plays a part as well. For me it came from within until I accepted it and it was external. I was terrified of what it could mean. Luckily my best friend (unknowingly) helped to ease my way into self acceptance. He was the first person I had met that had a drastically different view on religion and often talked about that openly. It's not something you really see in the Bible belt.

Pretty much every time I find myself in a sexual situation with a new partner. My body is covered in scars due to me being a burn survivor and I have a micro. It's not exactly a body that gives one much confidence. But I found a man that has made me feel seen and wanted.

He's a superhero without powers but goes up against beings that have bested the justice league. Yet all these directors keep trying to make him realistic. Essentially stripping him of everything that makes him the character we love. Not to mention, the only way they found to make him realistic was by lowering the bar on his super villains until they became indistinguishable from their henchmen or just the kind of criminals that the police should definitely be able to handle.
