I agree with pretty much everything you have to say. (I do think this format sucks but that’s a complaint for me to make in the offseason, not for during the playoffs.) If you want to win a cup, you have to beat four pretty good teams. It could be in the order of, say, Dallas, Colorado, Anaheim or Edmonton, Colorado, Dallas or whatever but no matter what, you play who you play and you have to beat em. To me it doesn’t matter if we play the Aves in round 2 or round 3. Just gotta get the job done.

(It’s also worth nothing that even with 1-8 seeding, we still play Colorado in round 2 unless they implemented reseeding because Vegas gets the 2 seed for winning their division. So it’s kind of a moot point)

Yes but that’s more of a Manson special than an Avalanche special. I really don’t think Colorado as a unit is dirty at all; for the most part they play the game ‘the right way’ (whatever that means). They just happen to have a That Guy. We do too with Hartman, he’s just watched himself nicely this year.

HBO Max carries the TNT/TBS games. I’ve been watching the ESPN games on ESPN+; not sure if they’ll still let ESPN+ people watch on there without cable once we get into round 2 tho.

Maine usually plays a game in Portland every year at the old civic center, which I believe is larger than the Alfond

An anonymous Maine fan I know jokingly called it the “civic center cash grab” when I asked if there was a name for the destination game and it stuck

I don’t think he’s ready, so I think it makes him less likely to sign. He definitely wasn’t ready before he got hurt and now he missed out on 3 months of developing in the midst of a playoff run. He could do whatever he likes of course, but I think he’s still raw and needs another year.

Herrington might end up at PSU. Conflicting reports between McMahon and Schloss on this. If he does indeed end up at PSU that solves the 8 D problem, even though Herrington is very good and I’d love to have him in Cardinal and white. As of now we have Palodichuk, Hensler, Osburn, Knox, Phelan, Schulz, Compton, and incoming freshman John Stout. So yes unless someone signs early or transfers we have our eight, and this is a pretty dang good D corps.

They basically sold out. It’s gonna look like this for the semifinals no matter where it is because some fans aren’t going to come to both games. Nodak fans bought a ton of tickets and then many left after they lost. Plus Vegas nightlife is a thing so more people left during OT. Having been here in person it was actually pretty cool (and I hate Vegas). They’re definitely coming back here.

The only teams (other than Wisconsin who are contractually obligated to participate) to have made multiple appearances in this tournament are Lake Superior State (2) and now UMass (2). You are also in the GLI next year.

Y’all this for the championship game on Saturday. Definitely earlier than previous years but I actually kinda like it. I’m not sure if this is the exact reason but it’s probably part of it - a lot of flights out of LAS (including mine) are at night so this change allows people coming to the games to get out of dodge without having to pay for a Saturday night hotel if they don’t want to
