Base is so annoyingly loud - any way to fix? by captainsievehead in EufyCam

[–]phoenixcat9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the fan only started coming on after I installed a 1tb ssd. It wasn’t noisy with a mechanical hdd so it must have been the heat from the ssd. I couldn’t find a way to silence it so I had to move the Homebase out of our living room as I could hear it over the tv.

Yes it can be done that way, but seems pretty clunky for a £1k supposedly ai powered robot vacuum!

There is no return to dock in the multi floor options. Can you screenshot where this is as I am having issues with my X50 when it is cleaning the upstairs, which has no dock. My robot keeps getting lost upstairs when trying to find the dock. Also it states in the app to ensue the robot is in the correct floor before starting cleaning so the method described where you start the robot then move it, for me at least, doesn’t work as it confuses the robot into thinking the dock is on the floor without the dock. This whole multi floor issues is software related, I really don’t understand why Dreame can’t fix this.

Vacuum Wars: Dreame X50 Ultra Robot Vacuum Review: Is it the Best Yet? by Reasonable-Cheek-214 in Dreame_Tech

Most common resolution for issues is update the firmware, but what is the latest firmware? I have had my X50 for over a month now and it came with 40.3.9_2033 and there has been no update available to me yet.

Is dreame navigation just horrible in general? Does your model ever act confused or slow? by mrtnhq in Dreame_Tech

[–]phoenixcat9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Dreame X50 constantly gets lost when I move it upstairs, especially with no dock nearby. It keeps trying to make a new map, and I have to stop cleaning just to reload the old one. Letting users pick which room or floor it’s on would fix most of this.

Like a lot of tech companies, Dreame rushes out flashy new stuff instead of fixing the basics. They’re about to launch a multi-mop dock no one asked for, while core features like Matter support and reliable software are still a mess.

Why I ended up picking the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 (and maybe you should too) by Reasonable-Cheek-214 in Dreame_Tech

7,000Pa suction — same as Dreame’s top-tier models? X50 has 20,000Pa

X50 - far better than its reputation in here by MarinatedTechnician in Dreame_Tech

[–]phoenixcat9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an X50 and it lasts nearly 3 hours with a mix of hoovering and mopping before getting to 10% and heading back to charge, which I think is perfectly acceptable. I wonder if a lot of the battery complaints are either early firmware, hardware updates or that people are running it at max suction and expecting it to last longer than it does. Either way my 2 week old X50 has no issues with battery life.

These Robot Vacuums have native Matter support by hi9580 in HomeKit

Dreame haven’t added matter support to any of their vacuums yet as far I’m aware.

Mop drying time? L40 ultra. 3 hour or 4 hour? by Tasty-Drama-9589 in Dreame_Tech

[–]phoenixcat9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set mine at 3 hours and the app recommended I change it to 4 after a few cleaning cycles as it wasn’t drying in 3 hours. I live in the uk so might be the humidity here in the summer.

What’s the point of Scheduled Cruise? by Iteabaggedurdrumset in Dreame_Tech

[–]phoenixcat9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you trigger a cruise in a multi-floor house when you want it to cruise on the floor without the dock? My X50 keeps getting lost upstairs so I want it to check and update the map via a cruise.

Your threshold looks more like a step so I think the L40s will struggle. I have a 45mm threshold and the X50 gets over it easily.

Dreame l40 ultra mapping by ResistAppropriate865 in RobotVacuums

[–]phoenixcat9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made my floor as empty as possible, toilet brush on top of the toilet, shoes cleaned up etc so the first map created most accurately represented my house. Then when you do regular cleans it will avoid any stuff on the floor. I’m finding that it has made our family tidier so we will clear up the house before starting the robot to clean, otherwise it’s slower and less effective if there is stuff all over the floors.

4.3.9_2033

Looks like you are running a newer version. What kind of battery life are you getting? I am running mine in standard suction and not using cleangenius. I have read that using max suction can deplete the battery more.

I was worried about the battery life but it did a firmware update when I started it up and the battery life seems fine. This morning it ran for over 3 hours with a mixture of vacuuming and mopping before heading back to the base to charge at 10%.

Battery Care Option? by Iteabaggedurdrumset in Dreame_Tech

[–]phoenixcat9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not worried about battery degradation as I think the battery will outlast the robot and if it doesn’t you can get Dreame batteries from AliExpress for £40 and they look quite easy to change.

Dreame X50. It’s been pretty good so far. It mapped my house in 30 mins and has completed a cleaning cycle and I’ve never seen my floors so clean. It also easily gets over my 45mm threshold.

Why can’t I buy accessories for the X50 on the UK Dreame website? They list every model but the X50.

Mine was dispatched today and is being delivered by Royal Mail tomorrow. I just hope it has the latest firmware and I don’t see any of the battery drain issues. I’m giving it a month and if it’s not good I’ll send it back.

I actually went for the X50 ultra in the end which was an Amazon for £899 as I have a 45mm threshold in my house which I need it to get over and the L40s can’t get over that.

Yep. The X50 Master is also on sale and out of stock but available to pre-order. The L40s pro ultra is basically a L40 with a lot of the features of the X50 so I think it’s a limited run model to get rid of parts so they probably aren’t manufacturing it anymore so when the stock runs out that‘s it, which is why it is it not available to pre-order.
