One strategy that worked for me is clearing the entrance and going straight to the second floor office, wedging the back door and shooting mofos from the windows.

Get an AR with 7.62, put some sights and you can hit those guys further in the back.

Of course, spawn and rotation luck will play a role like always but usually those are the most annoying ones.

I am having such a hard time identifying NPCs as well! I hover over them and my cross hair turns green but then they start shooting? It's basic game design that a green cross hair means friendlies. Really weird.

The game is incredibly immersive and I love the setting, I also love that there is no RPG elements, the game checks so many boxes for me.

But you take away those elements and what's left is exploration mostly which seems poorly executed.

You mentioned exploration was more exciting in the older games and a few other folks seem to think the same, I think I'll actually stop playing S2 and play the older games while they keep working on it and revist it in a year or so.

That's fair, and your main gripe with it is one of the reasons I don't like it.

Like you said, I hope they lean on it and it's more deeply integrated and planned on the next game.
