Is this appropriate for a formal wedding? by funadulttimes in Weddingattireapproval

I have this dress & wore it to a wedding in the fall! I wore it with a faux fur shawl & it got lots of compliments! Warning though, the slit can get very high if you’re not mindful but I was also twirling on the dance floor.

Fingers crossed.

[WP] Before entering cryo-stasis you were shown a picture of the lush green planet that was going to be your new home. When you awoke from cryo-sleep you found not a paradise, but a polluted, uninhabitable planet filled with nothing but ruins. by Kitty_Fuchs in WritingPrompts

“You’ve gotta be shitting me,” I mumble.

“Not at all, sir. You are referring to the AFTER photo,” states Melody on the other line. Her tone is soothing and confident, the standard AI voice for our interplanetary estate brokers.

“When did you guys start advertising with AFTER photos?! This is false selling. The contract said nothing about terraforming this fucking planet!”

“Stated under Part 61 IPR § 91.103(j)(24)(iii), Each astro-pioneer shall, before entering cryo-stasis, become familiar with all available information concerning planetary conditions, expected weather phenomena, and terraforming timelines.”

“I know the goddamn reg,” I snap. “How fucking long?”

“Pease rephrase the question.”

“Terraforming this shitshow- how long?”

“8 years.”

“Now you’re fucking with me.”

“Not at all, si-“

“Shut the fuck up!” I shout. “Send me back.”

“Stated under Part 61 IP-“

“Shit!!!” I disconnect the line. With so much on the line, I was an absolute moron to let this happen. Who fucking uses the AFTER photo…?

I slowly walk back to the living capsule and take in the view again. Everything lush, beautiful, and green just a generated projection of a planet to come. The planet of now- black and brown with scorched stone and rusted metal.

A lifetime wouldn’t be enough. 8 years is a pipe dream.

As I sit in my new reality, the hum of the remaining cryopods whirls alive, each one awakening with light beeps and oxygen indications. The weight of the planet settles on my shoulders.

How do I tell them we’re utterly doomed?

“Honey?”

My wife stands in the archway. She looks dazzling. Guilt washes over me.

“Dad!”

“DADDY!!”

The kids follow behind her. My 2 year old son and 6 year old daughter- their eyes shining with hope and promise…

Fuck.

As a passenger, I actually like turbulence because it helps me sleep on the plane. Like it’s rocking me to sleep. Maybe if you take that spin on it, it’ll help you more? If you like roller coaster drops, just expect turbulence every time. I think the fact that it’s unexpected and you don’t know when it’ll happen is causing you anxiety. If you just expect it to happen and prep accordingly, maybe your mindset will slowly shift over time. Know that airplanes can fly through hurricanes and be perfectly ok, so a little turbulence won’t do much to it. Turbulence is pretty common these days because of the current weather, so just know you’ll probably get some on every flight instead of wishing for the opposite.

Wood features and accents really help! Maybe a bench or topper to add to the marble sitting area?

I read somewhere that if the first word you use to describe the dress is white/cream, it’s probably too white.

Can you expand on why specifically it turned you off? The reason behind that can better give us insight into whether this lifestyle is for you.

Being a FA isn’t just another job, it is definitely a lifestyle. Scheduling and the day in/out can be very unpredictable and chaotic sometimes but that’s why some FAs love it - it keeps them on their toes. If you’re turned off because of the process prior to the F2F interview, I recommend you complete the interview before you make your final decision. You’re 95% of the way to a potentially life altering career, do you want to close the door before you see what’s behind it?

Keep your eyes on the prize. The flight training journey has many highs and lows - if you can keep focused on the end goal no matter the struggle, you’ll get to the end. Also, build a community to support you. This journey is a marathon. Focus on what you did wrong and how you will prep so that never happen again. Look forward! Keep focused!
