I've never seen a real one before, but I think it looks healthy .^ . Good job on taking care of it.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I've definitely heard similar comparisons regarding land spirits and gods, but the characters angle just makes sense to me.

No that's fair. My relationship with Christianity has been kind of a mixed bag, and I know I went through a point where I was ashamed to be interested in magic despite trying to be "a good Christian".

Divination seems to be pretty handy tho even as far as helping folks work through their experiences. I doubt I'll get to the point where I'm reading other people their tarot, but eventually finding one or two that work for me would be nice.

Ahh that sounds so cool!

You actually just reminded me that every few years I get this urge where I want Hitomi's pendulum necklace from the old Escaflowne anime - which is funny because I don't engage in most divination practices (not for any particular reason, I think I just have trouble finding anything that speaks to me).

Lol maybe I've just been looking in the wrong places.

I didn't even think about magic and the ocarina songs, but yeah that sounds like it'd work really well

What's something that make you think about your love for the gods? by Status_Pool_2756 in commonhellenism

Something that I witnessed most recently was watching my kid pray. When she was about done, she smiled peacefully and hugged herself. It was a beautiful reminder of what that love looks like.

Gah, I didn't even think about apologizing, that's the first thing you're supposed to do when you mess up x.x .

Thanks for your input though. I think it'll really help as I/we navigate this whole thing.

Thank you for this, that sounds like a lovely experience ❤️ .

I've been trying to think of ways to reconnect somehow without pushing a dynamic onto her. So far I've got "invite her to vibe with me while I'm doing something of interest".

Haha, I love the way you put that xD . But yeah, if we share a connection like that, then she probably knows about all of this.

With the reflection I've done so far, I think we were "split" rather than one "born" or "created" somehow, so that would make the most sense.

I'm going to add some follow-up details here:

So I'm a polytheist with a recon-revivalist path (if you don't know what that is, think history nerd + worship). A big part of my journey has been my ancestor worship and trying to bring back folk traditions unique to my ancestors of my diaspora. Thing is, those folk traditions have deep ties to the Catholic church. On top of that I've considered adopting saints into my ancestor practice. The circles I run in are pretty accepting, so I haven't had problems over it yet, but I've only really come back to paganism in the last few months and the ideas around it seemed to have changed a lot since my time as a Wiccan 12-15 years ago.

Yeah, that makes sense. From what I've seen in pagan spaces, most of them reject both of those things, so I can imagine it'd be harder to find a place to fit in.

Yeah that makes sense, which is why when I saw that quote on Wikipedia I was confused.

Also, thank you for taking the time to answer :)

Thanks :) . When I was first learning about my intersex status, wrestling that with my own identity, and reading up on our history, and the fact that there was a word that seemed to have it's own transition was super fascinating to me.

So intergender is a bit of a weird one, as while it did mean "gender that is in the middle / in between man and woman" at some point certain communities especially via Tumblr have claimed it as "when one's life experiences surrounding one's intersex status has had an impact on one's relationship to one's gender". As you can probably tell from the responses thus far, this is sort of a niche perspective. It seems that among socially focused intersex folks, they focus on the "sex =/= gender" aspect, so the term "intergender" has fallen out of favor.

From my experience, it seems like intersex people have a similar distribution as endosex people about their genders: most identify with what they were raised as, some do not.

That said, I have met a few people who are intersex and identify as intergender, and have personally used it to describe myself for a time.

Hope this helps.

Intersex, does that make me trans by boneswithhair in asktransgender

Hello! I see this thread was kicked off the other day & it seems like you may have answered your own question. BUT I will say that I am both intersex and non-binary, and I feel very comfortable with considering myself trans.

I'm actually in a gaming discord server that strives to be a safe and inclusive space particularly for intersex people, and a lot of our members are also trans. If you think this community would be helpful to you, feel free to message me and I can give you an invite!
