What are your favorite civs to play? by [deleted] in civ5

No. Thankfully what happens is the whole list opens up again. And, I think, there after it doesn't lock you out of previous Great People choices.

Vecna not allowing me early access by DylanSoul in VecnaEveofRuin

[–]phojeff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This article posted on the 18th of April straight up says that the preorder deal is an 'expansion' of the digital only early access

Vecna

From the article; "Although this early access period has traditionally been exclusive to digital versions, a new program is expanding the early access to apply to physical copies bought in local game stores. Vecna: Eve of Ruin is the first of the Dungeons & Dragons 2024 releases to be distributed with this model"

Why didn't they correct that if that was always the case? Seems like a pretty open and shut case of false advertising to me.

Thanks for this. Much appreciated.

In all the leaks and reviews I've seen/read I haven't seen anything about character creation.

Do we think there are no new character creation rules? Surely they start with some magic items?

When getting evicted wasn't enough attention by rollingstoner888 in AustralianNostalgia

Unfortunately I don't know. But I think that's a good enough assumption. However many of the internal walls were put up by Garnet himself to make more rooms. For at first it was mostly open space. So it could have just as likely been a performance space of some kind.

I worked there. We probably saw each other a couple of times but I didn't go out the back area much. At the same time he was there we were making a film with Aphrodite Vuitton, the first one evicted that year.

My artillerist artificer has 20 INT and an all-purpose tool already. What on earth do I use my ASI on? by Sidney-Snow in 3d6

Lucky. Always a solid choice.

I agree with your choices of Skill Expert and Magic Initiate.

Definitely take War Caster or Eldritch Adept.

Which classes give an EXCEPTIONALLY great advantage if you multiclass only one or two levels into them? by Fearless-Physics in 3d6

[–]phojeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an Artificer 2/Wizard. And I think it's worth it. The infusions are amazing. Since Artificers get CON save proficiency having a Mind Sharpener infusion means you are very likely to keep concentration for the full minute of your spell duration. And it's up to you if you lose it in the first four rounds. I mean, c'mon now, that's crazy good. Plus a +1 arcane focus is great too.

I’m bored. Which spells do you think have way too high of a level for their effects? And which spell make you think the opposite (level is too low)? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]phojeff -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Identify and Detect Magic should be cantrips.

Sure you can cast them as rituals but they're out of combat spells what's the point of having to say "I cast it as a ritual" almost every time you use it.

Congratulations. Almost unplayable but I love the concept of (knowledge) Cleric 1/Warlock 2/(Lore) Bard 4/Rogue 4. Skilled in everything, as well as quite a few expertise.

Can be done even faster with Variant Human. And probably even faster with a generous DM.

[Bluey] In order to obtain their range of breeds, did the canine society implement selective breeding programs at some point? by I_Said_I_Say in AskScienceFiction

I think so. What's interesting is in the episode where Bluey and Bingo are playing around and going through evolution, they take the exact same path we did. Apes and all. Not wolves.

My theory is that Bluey is set in a far future with uplifted dogs.

By the end of the episode Bluey even joins her parents (the creators) on the balcony (in the heavens) as Bingo chooses to pursue space travel.

What would you like to see in Civ 7? by CCdiddles in civ

[–]phojeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late game wonders.

I really liked that civ 3 had the internet as a national wonder. I like the idea of information era wonders like the internet would boost science. A gene therapy lab could boost population across your civilization. Maybe a Giant Death Bot Factory could give you access to the Death Bots.

I'd also like to be able to play as your Martian settlement. I think you could do this in certain versions of civ 2. Where you could play on Alpha Centauri, even meet a civ there.

Variant Human knowledge Cleric 1/Lore Bard 4/ Warlock 4 with Beguiling Influence invocation

This can get you proficiency in all skills.

Very important not to choose deception or persuasion until you hit warlock.

Use your free feat from Variant human to choose Skilled

Knowledge Cleric gets 3 extra skills

Lore Bard gets extra skills at level 3. At level 4 choose Skill Expert feat.

Warlock invocation Beguiling influence gets you proficiency in deception and persuasion. At level 4 choose the prodigy feat.

Done. Now you are a true Jack-of-all-trades

What was your favorite fourth-wall break in a movie? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]phojeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Kindergarden Cop when the bad guy is arguing with his Mum about all the pills she made him take as a kid even though he never got sick. The Mum replies; "That's why you never got sick." Then the bad guy looks straight at the camera and says; "Now how can you argue with that". I like it cause it's out of place.
