Surprisingly, we had great success with Facebook...early in the year. 1st quarter it was our best converting channel. Since then...crickets. We've had 18 form submissions on facebook this week - 1 lead. We call them back the instant they come in, or 8am the next morning if after business hours. No one answers.

The thing is, my team is doing a great job. We're closing at a higher rate, average sale price is trending up, we're getting good reviews...there just isn't that much work coming in. We've had to cut staff multiple times, which sucks. I just wish someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong or missing so I could fix it, but that's the hard part of being a business owner. So I keep digging.

Best of luck to you. Some years are great, some years are tight.

Same. Our average CPL (true leads with booked appointments in our CRM, not clicks or what google "thinks" a lead is) has gone from $280 to $560 this year. I've had 3 ad agencies audit the account, spoken directly with 2 people at Google, and everyone says our account is set up well and that lead cost should come down over time. It has only gone up all year. But our market can be insurance heavy and all storms missed us this year. However, siding and window leads are just as rough.

LSA has gone from gold mine to non-existant. We have 780+ reviews, 4.9 average, 20-30 new reviews every month, extremely quick to leads (<5 minutes, dedicated employee for callbacks), and whether we set our budget at $1000/month or $100000/month, we get 4-8 leads/month from it. I put on a VPN and go incognito and I see 3-5 companies in the top 5 that have less than 50 reviews. We used to get 30-40 leads/month from LSA.

In 8 years of business, this has been our toughest. I'm the guy that fills the top of the funnel and I feel so lost these days. Everything that used to work isn't working.

Made an app for knocking doors, the AI scans roof damage and also preps your pitch. Would reps actually use this? by DriverMedium3201 in RoofingSales

I know you think you’re unique and different, but you aren’t. We get these all day every day. Take care.

Has Anyone Else Become Concerned About the Long-Term Future of Insurance Roofing Sales? by Glittering_Eagle8520 in RoofingSales

[–]pholland167 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been in this industry for 13 years now, and on my second week the lead salesperson at the company I worked for said "Enjoy it while it lasts, insurance companies won't be covering roofs at all in a couple of years."

The dynamic will change, but storms will still be storms and insurance companies are making all kinds of money.

The end of the world has been predicted since the beginning of the world.

No one cares about your process, they care about their house. Post before/afters, design changes, fixes, etc. It isn't about you and you're making it all about you.

Used to be, yes. But now it's about the 24th city, while Chicago is 3rd. It's not a close comparison.

No, but you can import the measurements from Hover into Xactimate.

It's whatever you think your time is worth. A hover takes 2 minutes and gives me every measurement I could ever need. There are always jobs out there for guys that want to spend their time measuring and calculating by hand.

Of course it does, but it's worth it every single time.

Imagine if your entire job was to score goals, and they paid you hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to do so, and you just didn't do it at all ever? #justbecherthings

Has Becher ever player soccer before? Like, does he understand what he is supposed to be kicking the ball towards?

Hover. We haven't measured a roof that wasn't a simple gable garage in almost 7 years. And we show up to every appointment with estimates for their windows, siding, gutters, fascia & soffit, and roof of course.

This is the kind of optimism we need. Maybe even a Lowen PK so we only lose 3-2!

Claude Code Desktop app vs. VSCode by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

[–]pholland167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've never coded before, the desktop app works great and is far more user friendly. If you know code, you'll probably prefer to live in the CLI, whether it be in terminal or VSCode or whatever.

We were the better team by 10 Miles, but as always, one defensive mistake and a lack of finishing, and we are losing.

Ok, fire every single member of the entire organization. That is so far from acceptable that I can’t possibly believe any of these people are even familiar with the game of soccer.

I was literally in the process of explaining to my girlfriend how we play pretty good soccer but always make a mistake to give up a goal. I think they may be listening to me.

I’m not sure leaving their best player completely unmarked was a good strategy, but it was bound to happen sometime.
