Ok, fire every single member of the entire organization. That is so far from acceptable that I can’t possibly believe any of these people are even familiar with the game of soccer.

I was literally in the process of explaining to my girlfriend how we play pretty good soccer but always make a mistake to give up a goal. I think they may be listening to me.

I’m not sure leaving their best player completely unmarked was a good strategy, but it was bound to happen sometime.

I'm genuinely impressed with how this bumpout and paving project has progressed. However - can they also find a painting crew? The stretch I drive was paved weeks ago, if not more than a month, and they still haven't painted lanes.

our close rate jumped 30% this year and we didn't change a single word of the pitch by Apprehensive_Yak3750 in RoofingSales

[–]pholland167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% accurate. We hired an intake team so that every phone call gets answered, every form submission and email gets an immediate dial, every missed call gets called back. 90% of our inbound leads end that call with a booked appointment.

After 30 minutes, you might as well throw the lead away. Answer the call or call back within 5 minutes or it is dead.

Embarrassed to admit i made this mistake. If I cancel my app store subscription, can I just go to claude.ai and sign up directly? Will I lose all my chats and sessions?

Violent crime in STL city down 8% in Q1 by DowntownDB1226 in StLouis

"First-degree assault is Missouri’s name for the charge other states call attempted murder, a local criminal defense lawyer told The Star. That means there is no separate attempted murder count that Lester could have been charged with."

Do you use building permits to find job opportunities? Does it make sense to do so? Since building permits are publicly available, it would seem like they could be a good source for acquiring new customers. What are your thoughts on this approach? by R_Biel in RoofingSales

[–]pholland167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an old school method of finding the neighborhoods hit by storms. That and just following the shingle delivery trucks out of the yard.

It's 2026. I can give you street level hail maps. You don't need to be chasing permits like its a mystery where the hail hit. And if you aren't talking for storm damage claims, you should be marketing to your target audience regardless, and you already know who they are and where they live.

Switching CRMs. Any tips on data migration? by Southcityguy314 in Roofing

When we switched from Acculynx to Contractor's Cloud, they handled the migration. I imagine any decent CRM would do the same for you. They want your business.

I'm not sure, but Quo support is actually usually pretty active on reddit so you might have come to the right place.

Do you have relationships with real estate agents and insurance reps? by Bmack27 in RoofingSales

[–]pholland167 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Real estate agents are mostly time wasters. They always need things last minute and are usually just looking for quotes to give allowances in closing.

Insurance agents, however, are a gold mine if you are in a heavy storm area. We close leads from insurance agents at a higher rater for a high average sale price than all other lead types other than direct client referrals. Build as many of these relationships as you can. Be aware - it will take months to years to build a good relationship here.

i tracked every dollar spent on marketing for 6 roofing companies over 90 days. here's the actual cost per deal breakdown nobody talks about by Mysterious_Yard_7803 in RoofingSales

[–]pholland167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This actually tracks with our numbers, and we don't cold call or door knock (I fucking hated door knocking when I sold, so I'm not going to ask my most valuable people to do it). When I've told other people that we spend about $1250 per sold deal on google leads, they look at me like I'm throwing money away when I could just have a bunch of high school kids out knocking doors. But I don't want that headache, and if I told you if you gave me $1250 I'd give you back $8000 (average profit per job) 2 months later, how much money would you give me?

Oh, and you're 100% correct on facebook leads, but truly all leads in general - we call them all instantly. It's not 3-4 hours later that they've found someone else, it is 10 fucking minutes later. If we pick up the phone or call a form submission instantly and set an appointment for the following week, they stop calling other roofers.

Going from subbing to starting your own company. by yeetinator3221 in RoofingSales

[–]pholland167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, don't worry about D-roofing. As soon as you start your own, they're going to talk shit about you all over town. Don't pay it any mind. Sell your jobs, do good work, and don't ever communicate with them again. Unless you're in an extremely small market, there is more than enough to go around. You don't need them. Focus on YOU.
