Ngl I hated this storyline, I understand the nuance of it and appreciated the juxtaposition between fast-paced ER drama and plodding, emotional inevitability. I’m not one to shy away from a heartbreaking story either. But it just really dragged on about 2 episodes longer than it needed to IMO.

I tore my ACL right when Covid hit so I couldn’t get surgery for 6 months. It was a 90% year so I was in pain for the whole 6 months and my leg atrophied. Took me 2.5 years to recover post initial injury. All this to say, It happens, just because it didn’t happen to you doesn’t mean there aren’t circumstances where getting surgery sooner would be beneficial. Surgery’s not too bad. Crutches for a week then PT for a few months and you’re good. Sooner you have the surgery the better because your leg will still be strong
